Chapter 11 - The Battle Of Behemoths

As the fog began to spin rapidly, the winds started to howl, it's volume getting increasingly louder. The Dark Fog started to contaminate the rest of it, like a parasite leaching onto its host; Slowly becoming a part of it.

"I. Don't. Care!" The Frequencies overwhelmed the howling wind as the cyclone of fog almost fell apart. The giant jumped up high, close to another fifteen meters. Then the vines that draped its body moved as if they were conscious, wrapping themselves around the giants arms.

Mid-air, it flicked its arms forward. The vines shot into the earth, aggressively rooting into it as an anchor point. The Rock Giants tugged on the vines, causing its body to shoot towards the ground.

It cocked its fist while descending, its whole body bowing as all the pent up potential energy waited for release. In a split second, it was a few feet above the ground; thus, it savagely through the punch.

*BOOM*

The Earth cracked and moved in a large wave outwards! Dirt, rocks and tree's flew out like shrapnel, the shockwave dispersing most of the Dark Fog!

For a few miles, there was a bald spot within the forest. The darkness gave way to a shining sun, it illuminated the destruction caused by the Rock Giant.

Before anyone got to celebrate, the Dark Fog rose up from the forest, standing tall like a massive tsunami, the sight of its grandeur left little else to the imagination. The Dark Fog rushed towards the giant!

The howl of the wind pierced Amaranthus's ears, he could hear that howl!

The Rock Giant stomped its foot as a huge wall made of Earth sprouted in front of him, he then braced against the wall causing pillars to attach themselves to it.

There was no impact, but suddenly there was no sound and the world turned pitch black.

The earth was falling apart! The fog ate away at the earth wall, rushing forward like a turbulent river.

After the Dark Fog passed, it disappeared into the forest. Most of the wall had crumbled into dust from the clash. The titan fell to one knee, it's hands had been corroded down till they resembled tooth picks. Yet, it still did not let them fall.

It's head hung low.

Amaranthus was spitting blood, his consciousness fading in and out. The forces produced from the Giants meteor fall and the corroding fogs attack took its toll on his mortal body.

"Human." The Rock Giant rumbled out deeply, it's voice carrying a desolation.

"I am no match for that Dark Wraith, I do not know if we will make it out of here alive."

Amaranthus was roused from his half-conscious state. His vision was a bit blurry and he couldn't properly see.

"We were meant to help you, but too much has been corrupted." The Rock Giant stood up, the earth wall crumbled as well as the supporting pillars.

"We, The Terrae, will not crumble within the sands of time." It rumbled aggressively, resembling a war chant!

Amaranthus struggled to stand. His internal injuries were not mild.

"The power of the mind governs this world. I will need your aid if we are to have any hope of living, we have to work together."

'My.. Mind..' Amaranthus opened his eyes, he couldn't.. He couldn't understand.

'How?.. How do I use my mind to fight?!' He thought it a bit ridiculous and an insane notion to believe.

"Your mind is a weapon, which is intricately connected to this world and its energies. As long as you aren't a primitive baboon. You will be able to use your mind to fight. I cannot explain anything else, it is returning."

The Rock Giant rumbled as it began to run forward, in the opposite direction of the earth wall, Amranthus's facial features were distorted as the rushing wind made his flesh flap around.

Amaranthus's rationality was thrown into the deep abyss of the subconscious as he decided to believe the rock giant.

'Fog is partially mist, water. Let's turn it into a cold ice statue.' As the giant ran toward the forest, parts of the dark fog began to creep low to the ground, a steady howl of wind resounded as it began to get closer.

This time, the trees, the roots, the soil, it all began to corrode. To liquefy.

The giant as it ran, stepped heavily into the ground. Cracks appeared due to the astounding force, the Giant was in the position to throw a God forsaken punch again, but this time it was aiming straight towards the mass of Dark Fog.

Amaranthus stretched out his hand as he imagined shooting ice cold air forward, like a jet engine spewing flames.

A formless and unobservable energy moved according to what Amaranthus imagined.

The Rock Giant felt the changes, although he wasn't able to discern what the effects of it would be.

'Good. Looks like I might not die. Although it'll be a tough a battle, we have a chance now.' The Rock Giants resolve solidified in its heart. It now carried the high ground in terms of morale, and it's strength surged because of it.
