Chapter 26 - Admiralty

The city of dream turned dark as the battleship, much larger than the city, block it from the sunlight.

The tremendous flying object brought fear to the locals once again, however, they were soon relieved after the sudden announcement of the authority.

It didn't take much time until the battleship landed beside the city's plain ground. The size of it occupies the entire area and made it look like a large fortress filled with military airport and stuffs that involve the air force.

Finally, the mouth right below the cockpit drew open, revealing the figure of a man in front of around ten guards.

"Mister President, a pleasure to meet you once again." Gonzales said while shouting to overpower the helicopters that came flying over them.

"So, how's our new land, Gonzales?"

"Quite clean and untouched, mister President. After surveying the entire country, I was able to find it pleasing." He said, but also included the ones he reported.

The two shake each other's hand. Then Irellet came forward to greet her supposed superior.

"An honor to meet you once again, Your excellency. I am quite glad for your return to this humble country of mine." She said as she bow giving respect to Ramirez.

This didn't end with just greetings. They also talk about the past as they rode the helicopter with two rotor that was also recently develop under the Ramanium energy.

They arrive at the palace's backyard within mere minutes and didn't wait any further for the reports.

This include the meeting with the elves which awfully came to a disgusting conclusion. This report made Ramirez once again despise the race he once knew that is dignified and majestic.

Truthfully, he expected them to be such a racist species due to their background, but it simply doesn't taste good when reality hit them.

Finally, they arrive at the head office where the President's seat reside at the center right beside the large window.

There he immediately declare.

"Gonzales, you will be the Admiral of the new established air fleet. You will be the direct commandant and captain of the battleship BRP Antonio Luna."

Gonzales's pencil drop when as he froze from shock.

His eyes was widen, his face was pale. No hinret of excitement can be seen from his face as his superior just gave him another troublesome position.

"B-but Mister President, I'm already your spokesperson. I can't take such valuable position!"

"Well. I can't take the other cabinet members since they are handling the army from Japan and Philippines. And you are the only trustworthy person I can see when I think about the safety of the battleship and her crew." Ramirez said, holding his chin with both of his hand.

Certainly, after the coup d'etat, they lack potential manpower that can be trusted to fulfill their government duties.

Despite this, it's still unheard of. He already have a place right beside the president which is valuable enough, getting another one will kill him.

"Please mister President. At least consider my position as your spokesperson and state governor. I can't handle them all at once." This statement finally made sense to Ramirez and gaze to empty space.

Truly, his friend did have so much work to do. Giving him more will only probably be a punishment rather than reward.

However, he cannot trust anyone enough to entrust such valuable asset.

Suddenly, Irellet raise her hand.

"Why don't Christine become your Admiral, sire? She's currently studying at your university, right? Why not just let her do her job as your fiancée instead of attending class? You can use her as you please. And surely, I promise that she will obey as you command." Ramirez gaze at Irellet and give her a questioning look as if her suggestion is quite weird.

However, still reasonable.

"That's not a bad suggestion. But she's a citizen of my former enemy. I can't compromise now that we currently lack manpower. But, if I find her trusting, I will do so and take your suggestion."

Ramirez, finally decided his plan, change the topic to political stuff and, thus, the meeting was finally concluded leaving the current Admiral seat empty.
