I lay on the ground, staring at nothingness. The darkness made it almost impossible for me to see anything around me, but I could at least make out the corpses of dead beasts all around me.
The smell of burnt meat assaulted my olfactory senses, making my nose turn up reflexively.
I sat up, groaning as I did, because for some reason my body ached all over.
I looked around myself, half expecting for something else to come out and finish the job that the beasts failed to.
Speaking of beasts, how did I not die? I felt teeth on my neck. There's no way I escaped from that, especially since I lost consciousness.
I made a thoughtful expression.
What happened? Could I have done this?
Seeing the charred remains of once living animals, I got a strange feeling of omnipotence, like I could have some hidden power.

Then I laughed at myself.
There is no way I could have done that, someone probably killed them at the last moment.
