Chapter 2 - The Unlucky Lad!

When my mother was 16 she was saved by a hero, The hero wasn't much popular nor had much talent but was a kind man.

It was the first time they had met, after which they fell in love, got married and had me.

For the record my mother was an ordinary being and my father was a C-Rank hero with the ability to transform his skin to rock.

I know, I know maybe not super cool but to me it was the coolest thing partly because it meant I could acquire such an ability too when I grew up.

It was common for individuals with blessed parents to have a blessed child.

To be honest, My dad was my biggest inspiration and I wanted to be a hero too so I studied hard and strengthened my body, exercising day and night to fulfill that dream.

I took a huge leap forward and landed successfully when I passed the entrance examination for the Hopes Academy , the most prestigious Academy in the world funded by The Order to train individuals to become the hope for humanity.

It was from this institute the great S Rank heroes "Powerman Arnold " , "The Impenetrable Rock " , " The Dragon Lee " and several other legends graduated.

I felt like I was destined to become a hero but then all of a sudden it all came shattering down like a nightmare I could never have dreamed of...

My Dad died on one of his missions, my mother couldn't handle the news and died shortly after. Despite all this I still had a positive attitude but then even I lost all hope when I realized that I didn't inherit the Blessed Genes from my father.

It was a One in a million occurrence for the offspring to not inherit the blessed genes

From the parents and I was the one, I don't know if I would call this Lucky or unlucky , blessed or what...

-Why me?

-Am I destined to live a cursed life.

...

I was still admitted to the Hopes Academy due to the family-program* under The Order.

But I had no hope left in me now.

I had no parents, no powers, no luck, no life whatsoever.

-Should I just ... vanish too?

...

My Life at Hopes Academy was just as I had imagined my luck would allow me to have, Although Initially I was nothing bad happened but ever since they came to know about me that I am a powerless ordinary the people started to treat me differently.

They called me different names, humiliated me, said I was the curse that ate up my parents, and bullied me day in and out. Some showed pity, some disgust and some outright hate.

It didn't take time for me to be treated just like many ordinaries were, I became a plaything for the ones with power. They would beat me relentlessly testing their powers, A horror many ordinaries faced alongside.

Even a lot of ordinaries despised me, because I had a blessed parents, something straight up believed that I was a cursed child and that being around me would be a bad omen for them.

Life became a hell, where neither the ordinary nor the blessed would accept me.

...

I didn't have friends, I didn't had parents, I didn't had anyone...

-Was I even meant to be a alive or am I just a curse.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
My ordinary day would go the same, filled with a bunch of troubles, over time I succumbed and accepted my fate.
"Hey you little Piece of shit! Where are you going?"
It was not uncommon, I'd listen to those shit all day long during classes.
"To flush myself! You want to see?"
- I guess now I didn't even care.
"Woah! This turd can speak. I think you need to be disciplined." said Zachary my everyday bully, and began cracking his knuckles to intimidate me.
The next thing I know, I am lying on the floor of the washroom bruised and hurt. Zachary was bad but not the worst he was just an ordinary loser. I wasn't even scared of him.
I in fact considered myself really lucky to be not in the classroom of the blessed, they had it way worse for weak individuals like me, those who were blessed but had weak or non-combat abilities.
I was in the Ordinary Section, where the students with no blessed abilities studied. Most of them were fated to be recruited as dummy soldiers or scatter around as dispensable items once they graduated.
The society had really changed over time from the history books, the world despite The Order was divided into two and there was nothing that could be done about it. The social hierarchy was real and unchangeable.
I somehow felt bad , for everyone in the ordinary section even for Zachary that he was going to be tossed like a piece of trash when he would graduate, me included.
Just like me most had already realized the harsh reality, and would spend their days picking on people like me who didn't even wanted to fight. The others however tried hard to change their fate and I'd say they did had a chance as if you are top of the class or highly gifted in other areas you can actually be useful for The Order or be a better piece of trash.
It was hard for me at first too, but now that It was common I had become accustomed to it and didn't even felt anything anymore.
I thought nothing can change my life and I fated to be tossed into trash one day and so I led a worthless life of absolute nothingness.
I thought it was all my life would ever be...
Until that school trip that changed my fate forever...
Legendary Heroes of The Order
Powerman Arnold was an S-Rank hero with muscles no ordinary human could ever achieve, not even with decades of training.And no, they weren't just for show. 💪
According to official Hero Records, during one of his missions, he was shot at point-blank range with a 9mm handgun—the bullet couldn't even pierce his muscle.That's right. His muscle alone stopped a bullet.
And that wasn't even his greatest feat.
In what became one of the most iconic rescues in hero history, Arnold stopped a fully-loaded multi-storied train barreling at 130 km/h, moments before it plummeted into a collapsed bridge.He held it back. With his bare hands.People say the tracks still carry his palm marks.
The Impenetrable Rock—another legendary figure—shared a similar ability to my father.He could transform his outer skin into an unbreakable, stone-like armor.But where my dad could hold off a punch or two, The Rock was on an entirely different level.
My father used to tell me they were childhood friends, but I never believed him though.
One of his most amusing is tale is, when The Rock was kidnapped by a team of elite upper-class villains.But when they tried everything—blades, explosives, and what not—to break his defense, they failed.In the end, they released him unharmed.They couldn't scratch him. Not even a little.
But of them all, my favorite hero was the one they called "The Dragon Lee"—real name: Muse Lee.Unlike the others, he wasn't big or bulky.He had the body of a dancer and the presence of a storm.
Still, he could stand toe-to-toe against other S-Rank heroes and win without breaking a sweat.
Tragically, he died young during a mission—the cause still unrevealed in the records.Some say The Order keeps it classified. Others whisper that he chose to die. No one knows for sure.
He had several abilities, but his most famous ability was legendary.
They called it "The Dragon's Fist."He would channel his life force—what he referred to as Chi—into a single, earth-shattering punch.As per the reports, the force was said to rival a 10,000 metric ton train accelerating at 277 m/s².(And yes, I did the math. That's 2.77 billion Newtons of pure dragon rage.)
