On our way to the car Iain complimented me for leading my team to success. I smile at him "Thank you, I was pretty nervous but I'm glad I did good." Me and Iain hopped into the car and Iain pulled out of the parking lot. I peer out my window to see the night sky filled with stars captivated me with its beauty. "Hey Eve," Iain calls my name so I turn my gaze towards him. "I need you to know this before we go on the raid…" Iain looks over at me before looking back at the road, his voice wavers. "What do I need to know?" There's a moment of silence until Iain continues….
"On Wednesday there might be somebody at the raid. He and I go way back; in fact he used to be #1 at the police until he left." Iain has a pained expression on his face. "I'm not certain that he'll be there but if he is he'll either be down in the basement or in the house. If you see him in the house you need to make sure you don't engage him in a fight; run and find me, I'll deal with him. His name is Zayn, I'd describe how he looks but for some reason I can't remember his face… If you see him though I'm certain you'll know. So um if you could do that I'd appreciate it." I want to ask him a few more questions about this Zayn guy but just from looking at Iain face I can't tell it's a sensitive topic so I decide not to.
We drive for a bit longer in complete silence so I ask Iain something in order to break it. "Hey Iain, why were you using a sword today? last time I saw you fight in town square you were using a gun so why switch now?" I had been dying to ask him this all day. Iain chuckles, "Well to be honest I'm much more efficient with a blade, I think why I was using a gun that day was because the Author changed his mind and wanted me to use a sword instead. Iain says this like it makes sense when it really doesn't, but I let him continue, at this point most things Iain says don't make sense. "But you know what Eve, I'm glad I used a gun that day. If I had used my sword I probably would've chopped up that parasite to pieces and I would've never got the chance to see how amazing you are!" Iain gives me a warm smile "I'm glad I met you Eve." With that Iain looks back towards the road and we continue driving through the night.
Iain drops me off in front of my apartment. Upon me getting out Iain told me to get some good rest because tomorrow was our final day of training. When I reach my room I shower, I change out of my uniform and get ready for bed. I lay down on my floor and set my alarm like usual. Then before going to bed I flip open my phone and go to Alyse's contact and send her a goodnight text, I'm not screwing up by not texting her like I did last time. Then I put my phone down and close my eyes, quickly falling asleep. When I wake up I get up, get showered, change back into my uniform, and eat breakfast, I had eggs again today. Surprisingly Iain still hadn't arrived so I waited outside for him. After about five minutes of waiting he pulled up to the curb, his window is rolled down. "Sorry, I was a little late today!" I run up to the car "No problem, let's go!" I hop into the car and we get going.
We arrive at the warehouse and rush inside, everybody that had been here yesterday was here today as well, even Jack. They were all on break. "All right everybody listen up!" Iain calls out to the other officers, immediately all their attention turns to him. When Iain sees everybody is paying attention he continues. "Everybody this is the very last training session before the raid so let's make sure to make it a good one okay! You've all done great these past few weeks!" Iain's speech wraps up and in unison everybody responds "Yes Sir!" Even I say this, which caught Iain off guard because I didn't say it last time. After Iain's speech the break had ended and we all got ready. Martin placed his hand on the crystal, summoning the house and our weapons, and then the rest begins. Unlike yesterday Jack didn't take charge, so I took the role as leader again….
After hours of training and hundreds of different scenarios, We were able to complete most of the tests without fail. My team was amazing and I was proud to lead them, and I never said anything to him but today Jack was especially amazing, despite him not saying a word the entire day. Before we all left Iain gave us a closing speech. Reminding us of the specific details of the raid. Since the raid location wasn't too far from here we'd all be meeting at the warehouse tomorrow morning around 4:30 am. When here tomorrow morning we will assemble our equipment, and organize our teams before departing for the raid location. When he finishes everybody says their final "Yes, Sir," shortly after we are all dismissed. When everyone leaves the warehouse me and Iain are left standing alone just like last time. And with that my training had officially come to an end…
