Meanwhile—
The moment Vaelric spoke in that tone, the smile on Seraphina's face froze instantly.
Thud!
Rumble rumble rumble…
She took a single step forward, then turned her back to Ethan, facing Vaelric head-on. Her expression darkened, and her eyes locked onto him with a glare that could cut steel. Every inch of her radiated danger—an overwhelming, terrifying aura that made the air feel heavy.
"You got a problem with that?" Seraphina asked coldly.
Vaelric flinched hard, his face going stiff. Then he immediately started shaking his head like crazy.
"Nope! No problem! None at all! I've got absolutely no problem!"
"Hmph."
Seraphina let out a sharp snort, like a tyrant queen putting a fool in his place. Her voice was icy. "Watch your mouth. Being able to form a master-servant pact with my master is an honor. Got it? Hmph. Ignorant fool."
With that, she turned her head toward Ethan again, and just like that, her smile returned—bright and sweet, like nothing had happened.
