Chapter 624 - Chapter 624: Blood Stained Ice Field

Without much need for words, when Muria rushed to the sky, all the legends followed suit. It was a tacit understanding that required no verbal communication; once both sides reached the Soul Intent level or higher, they preferred to take the battle to the sky. Neither the defenders nor the attackers wanted to destroy the land beneath their feet—they weren't demons who only knew destruction. Moreover, excessive damage to the land could provoke the emergence of some terrifying entities.

"You five, come with me!" Muria swung his Halberd of Hell, its cold light dazzling, spanning the sky and encompassing the five fastest streaks of light—these were the five strongest legends. Muria unhesitatingly attacked them all at once, displaying unmatched dominance.

"You all come with me too." Seeing Muria fighting five legends simultaneously, Mikaela, who was already overwhelming the frost giant leader in front of her, followed suit. Her sword unleashed four arcs of sword energy, striking the following four streaks of light and forcing their true forms out.

Then, scarlet celestial fire spread, forcibly dragging these four legends into her battlefield.

"What terrifying power!" Fiona, the ancient green dragon who had followed Muria into the sky, looked at Muria and Mikaela holding off ten legends together, her eyes filled with awe.

"Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of power. I can only hold off one frost giant, and two would be beyond my limit." Fiona sighed softly, then a faintly fragrant green mist spread, enveloping a frost giant leader. Sounds of painful groans and battle cries erupted simultaneously.

As a dragon legend of average strength, Fiona didn't have much of an advantage against these giant-promoted legends, especially when they had the advantage of terrain.

Following Fiona's engagement with her opponent, the other legends under Muria's command, along with the three legendary white dragons supported by Claudia, also engaged their opponents. Some confident Soul Intent-level beings joined the fray as well.

A grand legendary war broke out in the sky, while below, a massive army battle involving over a hundred thousand frost giants, led by several Soul Intent-level frost giants, also commenced.

All participating frost giants were adults; not a single juvenile was involved. A strong tribe would never send its juveniles to war unless on the brink of extinction.

"I don't understand why these barbaric guys resist His Highness's rule. Are they blind? Can't they see our current situation?" A frost giant in a military formation muttered as he looked at the charging barbaric kin.

He had followed his tribe leader to the frost giant city built by Muria, moved into a clean, allocated house, and wore neat clothes. There, he could purchase various magical items with wonderful functions, like a metal pot that could melt ice into water, a metal block that could heat food, a cylinder that could clean clothes, and most importantly, various steel weapons to arm themselves to the teeth.

Now, having adapted to the high-quality life brought by civilization, he deeply felt the ignorance of the frost giants still living in the wild ice field. Compared to the educated frost giants, they were primitive savages—dirty, barbaric, and crude, beyond redemption.

"Because their leaders and the gods they worship fear losing their power, they are desperately resisting His Highness," another frost giant responded to the complaint.

"These guys deserve to die. What's the use of holding onto this power? My current life is better than that of any former leader. These are traitors and evil gods hindering our race's development." The now somewhat civilized frost giant, who had received education from the Sinapus cloud giants, cursed. They had learned to think and had developed their own thoughts.

Previously, frost giants had enough strength to survive in the desolate ice field, but they constantly worried about filling their bellies, too busy to think. Only after meeting their physical needs could they contemplate.

"Raise your shields!" When the barbaric frost giants began their charge, the frost giant commander, who had learned basic war tactics, shouted the order.

Then, the three triangularly arranged frost giant legions quickly reformed into a large, organized circle. The outermost frost giants took down their massive tower shields, gripping the handles inside and slamming them into the ground. In just a few dozen seconds, they formed a ten-meter-high circular steel barricade.

Moreover, the shield-bearing frost giants used their innate power, causing hard ice to spread over the steel barricade, making it even thicker. To the charging frost giants, all they saw was a solid wall, no longer the figures of their iron-clad kin.

Although incited by their leaders, these frost giants were filled with hatred for these so-called rebel kin. Yet, seeing them clad in iron armor and wielding coveted steel weapons, no frost giant could remain unmoved. Jealousy, envy, and greed spread among the barbaric frost giants, filling them with killing intent without needing their leaders' instigation. The allure of the weapons was too great—they wanted to kill their kin and take their equipment. This thought dominated most frost giants' minds at the moment.

With such thoughts, the tide of over a hundred thousand frost giants crashed into the circular steel barricade. In an instant, countless blood-red flowers bloomed on the land, blood splattering and freezing into blood-red ice flowers before hitting the ground.

The first layer of the iron wall was instantly breached. Civilization and barbarism clashed at this moment, engaging in close combat. Immediately, without needing the commander's order, the frost giants in the rear, trained accordingly, quickly took down their tower shields, forming a second steel wall. Behind the second wall, a third, a fourth, and more were quickly taking shape, with spear-wielding frost giants behind each new barricade.
