The banquet hall is full of cheers, but that doesn't mean everyone is genuinely happy with Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng's public display of affection. Some are bitter, and some (particularly that certain someone) are showing on-set symptoms of broken heart syndrome.
Mo Zhu, the prime example of the latter, feels like he's having the worst night of his life. He didn't return to his seat because he didn't have it in him to face his Brother Tingfeng after the friction with his father.
And when he heard Bai Tingfeng speak so sweetly and fondly about Shen Yuan, Mo Zhu's entire being shut down. That is the final nail that sets the coffin.
Mo Zhu bolted out of the banquet hall and locked himself up in one of the restroom of the Great Hall. There, he released all the welling emotions from his aching heart.
