"Why would the wedding be canceled?" Joseph Thompson frowned unhappily, looking at his father bewildered.
"She was the young Mrs. Osborne for five years, and now you're the successor. Do you think that's something to be proud of?" Ethan Thompson said with a stern face, as if it was already generous enough of him to agree to their marriage.
"I don't think there's anything disgraceful about it," replied Joseph Thompson calmly. "So what if she was the young Mrs. Osborne for five years? Is that something shameful? She didn't do anything wrong, and even if she divorced Connor Osborne, it wasn't her fault, was it?"
"Even so, the Thompson Family being the Osborne Family's successor isn't something to boast about," Ethan Thompson's impatience was clear. "Do you really need to publicize such a disgraceful matter?"
