Arabella Vanderbilt paused in the act of chewing fruit, and Joel Russo, seeing this, leaned in again to kiss her lips. But Arabella quickly chewed a couple of times and swallowed the fruit in her mouth, hurriedly saying:
"It's sold! The check for six hundred and fifty million is now in my bag."
Joel Russo glanced at her with a slight frown, having failed to snag any food from her.
He picked up a slice of pear and stuffed it into Arabella's mouth, watching her lips move as he asked:
"How much did you give Juliana Vanderbilt?"
Arabella didn't pause this time; she swallowed the fruit before speaking.
"The fifteen percent, Rosy Roberts had Juliana sign on the spot. Plus the eight percent of the shares in both Rosy and Dominic Vanderbilt's hands, they promised to give her that too."
Joel Russo then fed her a piece of apple, and Arabella continued to hold it with her mouth.
