Chapter 3 - 3- The beginning of the disaster

Many people passed by quite busy doing their work, and so did Eliana, she walked past the busy people, towards a room located far from the entrance.

When her steps stopped, her amber eyes gazed for a long time at a tightly closed door. Her hand reached out to knock.

Tuk, tuk, tuk...

She knocked three times, until someone in the room responded, "Come in."

Eliana opened the door, she saw a mature woman sitting smoking a cigar, the woman had a beautiful face, with blood red hair and dark eyes that looked so stern.

"Mathilda!" Eliana ran up to the woman, a cheerful smile etched on her face.

"It seems that you've recovered,"Mathilda smiled back at Eliana, she put out her cigar, pushing it out of Eliana's way.

"I've just recovered and I'm ready to work again today," Eliana said enthusiastically, her amber eyes sparkling with excitement that she could get back to work.

"You here, change into your old clothes before work," Mathilda got up from her seat, she picked up a pink dress that was lying on another table not far from her.

Eliana watched the actions of Mathilda, a woman who was 35 years old, but looked like she was 25. She saw Mathilda walking towards her with the dress in her hands.

"I'll change it myself," Eliana reached out her hand to take the dress from Mathilda, but Mathilda didn't give her the dress.

"This dress is quite expensive, I don't want you to ruin it, just let me replace your clothes."

She lied!

Eliana knew it was just an excuse. Every time she wanted to change her clothes, Mathilda always said the same thing. She always changed her clothes.

Eliana knew enough, if Mathilda always treated her quite special, even though her figure seemed strange, however Mathilda was just a lonely figure, that figure also needed comfort.

"Do as you please," Eliana could only surrender, seeing the smile of pleasure etched on Mathilda's face.

One by one, Eliana's clothes were removed until she was naked, wearing only her underwear. Then, Mathilda wrapped her in more luxurious and beautiful clothes, making her look even more radiant.

Then, Mathilda did Eliana's hair, brushing her silky soft brown hair, putting it in a neat ponytail, and putting on a beautiful hair clip.

Seeing Mathilda emitting a denser green aura than usual, Eliana gave her a suspicious look. A green aura usually indicated excitement or enthusiasm, and the denser the aura, the greater the feeling.

"How is it, beautiful, isn't it?" Mathilda showed her work through the mirror in her hand, a proud smile etched on her face.

Eliana looked at her appearance through the mirror in Mathilda's hand. Indeed, her appearance had become beautiful, but that was not the point.

"It's beautiful and different from the usual. What has happened?" Eliana could not hide her confusion and asked directly.

"Darling, you are my lucky charm! In order to hear your beautiful piano sound, a nobleman paid a very high fee. He is currently waiting for you in the VIP room," Mathilda couldn't hide her excitement anymore, her eyes sparkling like she was looking at a precious diamond.

Eliana couldn't help but be surprised, 'How big is the fee to make Mathilda so excited?'

Eliana blinked slowly, watching Mathilda's behavior as she looked like a child who had just received a special gift. She had always been the star of this entertainment house, paid well for her talent in playing the piano. Her melodies were hypnotic, captivating everyone who heard them.

Some people even tried to recruit her to work elsewhere, but Mathilda always resisted. To her, Eliana was an invaluable piece of luck. Ever since Eliana joined, the house has been abuzz with curiosity about the rumors of a child who can play the piano so proficiently.

This talent was not only acquired in this life. Eliana also became a talented pianist from a young age in her previous life (first life, in the modern world). She was often invited to perform at big events as a pianist.

"Well, now go to VIP room number eight, get excited, and do your best," Mathilda turned Eliana around, pushing her from behind, towards the exit. Eliana could only surrender as her body was pushed like a cart by the woman behind her.

As her body crossed the threshold of the exit, the door was closed hard, producing a "Bang!" sound as Mathilda violently closed it. Eliana shook her head softly, standing for a moment in the silent corridor. She smoothed her dress and took a deep breath. With determined steps, she strode towards the door of VIP room number eight.

When the door opened, the glittering lights filled her vision. The room exuded luxury, decorated with classic-style furniture and gleaming marble floors. In the center of the room, a mature man sat gracefully on a long chair, his delicate fingers holding an open tome, and the red eyes of the man reading the book turned toward her.

The man, dressed in an expensive-looking black suit, his black hair neatly styled, raised his head as Eliana entered the room. His piercing red eyes met Eliana's amber ones, and for a moment, the world seemed to stop spinning.

Eliana felt her chest pounding, but she tried to remain calm. This was not her first time dealing with a VIP customer like this man.

With a confident stride, Eliana approached the man politely, "Good afternoon, sir. I am Eliana, the pianist who will be providing the entertainment this evening."

The man smiled quietly, and his voice was smooth as he spoke, "Good afternoon, Eliana. I am Charles, and I have heard much about your musical talents. I am very much looking forward to your performance."

Eliana smiled politely and meekly sat down on the piano chair that had been prepared for her. She began to play a beautiful melody, making the whole room fill up with the sound of the piano melody she was playing. Charles, the VIP customer, was mesmerized by Eliana's playing.

During Eliana's performance, she felt like she was connected to the music. She forgot about this place, forgot about Mathilda, and forgot about all her problems including the bad incidents in the past. For Eliana, moments like these were an escape from her difficult life.

When she finished, the room was silent for a moment and then Charless clapped his hands while giving her a warm smile, "That was a wonderful performance, Eliana. I really enjoyed it."

Eliana smiled gratefully. She knew that tonight was a worthwhile night, not just because of the huge paycheck she would receive, but also because she felt alive through her music, and she managed to entertain someone in the process.
