Several baffling proverbs popped into Sky Moore's mind as he sighed helplessly.
He had thought, after an entire afternoon, that Lily Smith was about to forgive him. Turns out he was getting ahead of himself once again.
In the afternoon, he picked up Vivian Manson from the airport and found her a hotel. When he was about to return in the evening, Vivian said she didn't know where to get food. Being Mr. Nice Guy, he accompanied her to dinner. The drive back took over an hour, and by the time he returned, it was late into the night.
Sky Moore opened his own room door, took off his coat, and entered the bathroom. Just as he was about to unbutton his shirt, he caught sight of a lipstick mark on his pristine white collar.
A buzz sounded in his head; he almost immediately understood why Lily Smith had suddenly turned so hostile.
