Ashley took a deep breath, formulating a plan. "Kyle and Leah, take him back for questioning. Thomas and I will return to search for the kidnapped people."
"Wait!" Gemi called out, her voice trembling. She was holding her twin sister close. "Bella's not waking up."
Ashley's attention shifted to the twins. Mini's pale, unconscious form lay limp in Gemi's arms, her breathing shallow.
"Leah," Ashley said firmly, "attend to them when you get back."
Leah hesitated, her eyes darting nervously. "I… I can't," she blurted out before she could stop herself.
Everyone turned to Leah, stunned by her admission.
"Why not?" Gemi demanded, her voice tinged with anger as she held her unconscious sister tightly.
Leah hesitated, clenching her fists. "I need… Never mind," she muttered, looking away.
