I believed Haku and I could work together so I focused on doing my master's work while I set aside one of my clones to have a deep conversation with her. It didn't matter how long I remained within the moonlight mist, my clones outside were independent, so my plans should still be moving forward even without my input.
If I can get her to help me, however, that would boost things considerably.
She took me to an isolated space of darkness which I imagined was her 'dwelling' and in there, aside from a pile of treasures I also saw what looked like a girl bond in darkness. She didn't seem to be suffering, rather, distressed. Her eyes were covered in that same darkness too.
"And this is?" I asked out of curiosity, thinking she may be an enemy that was captured in combat.
"This is my daughter~".
"..." I looked at Haku like she was wrong in the head.
"Don't misunderstand. As you may be thinking she is the enemy. I just thought she may have better uses as my daughter rather than a corpse. But it doesn't seem she agrees so I have to impart into her some motherly love~".
She somehow explained it to me but I still my opinion of her hasn't changed, it only got worse if anything.
"I guess none of us is normal after all" I sighed.
"Of course not, sweetheart. We're pets for a reason, we're not wife material~" She shrugged her shoulders, spitting some facts that I couldn't deny. It is not like I wanted to be master's wife... as long as I could get a taste of him periodically and serve him, it was enough.
A wife was only the woman that gets publicly acknowledged, I had no such desire whatsoever. And from the start, I never thought to be master's number one as that was just delusional.
"Makes sense for us to be where we're at. What's your plan with her?".
"Nothing... she just has to compete against a certain nine-tailed fox. Are you okay, Zesshi-chan?~" She patted the girl's head.
"Fuck... you..." The girl said menacingly, making me whistle.
"This daughter of yours needs a bit of discipline".
"Yes, she still needs some indoctrination~ but don't worry... I'll take my sweet time to make her ready for master".
"Huh?" I thought I heard wrong but her smile only told me I had heard right.
"Does Master know about this?" I always saw him as a pure figure of righteousness that represents the sun. But as I come to know him I have realised that master doesn't mind him or his underlings getting their hands dirty to achieve their objectives, even if on the outside he remains 'holy'.
I love this part of him, because it means me, a creature of the darkness, still has a space in his life.
"Of course, he knows... he knows everything that happens in the moonlight mist, but he won't tell me anything so long as I don't go over the top. Master loves me dearly~" She puffed out her chest.
"Master is too lenient".
"That's the reason you're still alive. So? What's your plan?".
Haku created a throne of darkness on top of the mirror world and sat regally, putting her whole attention on me. She even flicked her fingers and the girl, Zesshi, was swallowed into the darkness and out of my sight, leaving only the two of us.
As she sat there I sensed depth in her, she has lived long and gone through a lot to reach where she is, I can tell.
"Aside from master's smooth take over of this world's religions. I naturally have more naughty plans... if that'd be the right word".
"... like?"
"I wish for our master to become the new Supreme Being of Nazarick" I confessed, earning a frown.
"Explain. What would be the use of that?".
"Nazarick is more than just a tomb, a place. Nazarick is a complex self-sustainable system centred on the tomb, an immortal fortress that centres on the protection of its masters. Even if all of us were to die, so long as the system remains, all of us can return".
Haku leaned forward, "So why hasn't he replenished his numbers yet if that system has that capability as you said? From what we know, he went to the Argland Council State to increase his undead army–".
"Yasaka-san destroyed the system when she crushed our great tomb, therefore, those who died are unable to return. Although Ains Ooal Gown does wish to conquer the Argland Council State to replenish his undead army, his real objective as of now is to re-create this system secretly in E-Rantel. If he manages to accomplish this, so long as there is enough mana, he could enter a never-ending war against Ray-sama. Naturally, you wouldn't know any of this if I wasn't telling you now".
"So that's his plan..."
"If he were to reinstate the system and include all of his undead dragon army into it; even Ray-sama would have a hard time dealing with him if the whereabouts of the system were unknown. That is why I believe this system would be of great use to Ray-sama and I wish for him to be the master"
I finished my explanation with a broad smile as if I had practised this countless times.
"How can this be achieved?" She asked, I could only shake my head.
"I don't know..."
Haku squinted her brows understandably "Huh? What are you talking about? What is the point of all this then?!"
The system is the creation of the Supreme Beings, how could lowly beings like us even come to understand how to create it? However, among us there is one that has access to that system, even if her privilege is limited.
"I don't know. But Albedo, the Guardian Overseer of Nazarick, must know the way. That is why I am trying to push her into Ray-sama's arms, as for Shaltear, master had already taken fancy of her~".
"You're a dubious one, Solution"
"There is a problem however".
"What is it?".
"Albedo is a succubus... pleasure is her domain. I am afraid master may get a bit too enthralled with her" I coughed a bit, feeling a tint of jealousy over an event that had even yet to occur.
She may end up harnessing a lot more of his attention.
Haku laughed at me as if my worries were the worries of a fool, she even cried, making me frown.
"You don't need to worry about that, even if she were to make it that far, that girl has a lot of competition. Very well, we will go with your plan, but remember Solution... so long as I am stronger, you're still under me".
"Hmph, so long as you are stronger, that is".
