Sasuke had waited for Kabuto Yakushi all night, but he never showed up. Sasuke did not truly need Kabuto's aid in collecting the scroll; he was expecting to contact Orochimaru and make a bargain with him. In his former existence, he had intended to trade knowledge with the snake-like guy, but he was too weak and ended up following the original plan. With his present power, he can easily negotiate with Orochimaru.
The second day of the Chūnin Exams was over, and the sky was starting to brighten. Sasuke thought it was time to wake up Sakura and Naruto and proceed directly to the tower. They might collect scrolls from other teams attempting to pass the exam.
Sasuke softly shook Sakura, causing Naruto, who was already half awake, to awaken.
"Good morning, Sasuke. "Did you have good sleep?" Sakura opened her mouth to yawn.
"I didn't sleep. "I was keeping an eye out," Sasuke responded.
"You should have awakened me up. I could have taken a shift," Sakura replied, her voice filled with anxiety.
"It is alright," Sasuke said curtly.
Naruto was rubbing his eyes. "Are not we going already?"
"Yes, we do not have much time left. "We need to go to the tower as quickly as possible," Sasuke said.
"Yes, it is correct. Let us go," Naruto replied, standing up.
"Sasuke-kun, do you have any plans? How will we acquire the other scroll? Sakura had a question.
"There is no need for a plan. "We only need to find any squad and seize their scroll," Sasuke said confidently.
"How can we know which team has the scroll we need? We have got the celestial scroll, right? "What if we come across a squad with the same scroll?" Sakura inquired.
"Then we will find another team. "It is not that hard," Sasuke said, dismissing her fears.
The three of them left their hiding place and walked towards the tower, hoping to locate the second scroll along the way. After half an hour, they discovered their first target. Sasuke instantly performed a genjutsu on the three genin and retrieved their earth scroll. He chuckled as he inspected the scroll and felt its rough roughness. It was a welcome difference from his prior life, when he had to work for everything. Everything became easy for him when he obtained the system.
"Hi, both of you. Please remain here for a bit. "I need to go do something," Sasuke stated, looking at Naruto and Sakura.
"Why are you being so sneaky?" We can always accompany you," Naruto said.
"There is no need. Remember that I have both scrolls. "If someone follows me, I will not hesitate to ensure you fail this exam," Sasuke said.
"Hey, Sasuke. Do not be so pompous. Remember that we are a team? Naruto responded.
Sasuke went away, ignoring him. If the system had not assigned him a mission, he would have gone on a murdering rampage. He did not have time for Naruto and Sakura's foolishness. He was preoccupied with several thoughts.
