This is my first time writing a novel, so I sincerely apologize in advance for the grammatical errors, I hope that you can enjoy my first ever novel despite the wrong grammars and spellings :,) im still in 6th grade, so writing a well-made chapter is a bit of a task for me.. but regardless, I hope you enjoy!
In a room filled with cans of sodas and empty containers of instant noodles, there lies a messy and dazed person.
And his name is Rei.
Rei is a talented 25 years old painter who showed great skills in art and had joined several art contests during highschool.
He had faced multiple hardships all his life due to the absence of his parents, and so, he strived to work hard.
When Rei finished college, he felt encouraged to sell his artworks to make a living, hoping that his creations would pay his expenses.
Unfortunately for him, luck started to drift away from his life, and became quite unlucky. His paintings were barely sold and now he is struggling financially, he decided that he would stop spending his short savings and thought about not spending his money for atleast 5 months, even if it meant starving himself to death. Rei was in a pretty desperate situation, so he had no choice.
"Haha.. sure enough, luck decided to leave me just right after I graduated.. its like the universe turned their backs against me.. Well, enough of this, im gonna get some fresh air to clear my mind."
Rei helplessly sighed as he wore his thick white coat, and wore his almost-broken boots. Although Rei may look financially rich based on his handsomeness and good sense of style, in reality, he's just a broke man. The only thing that's inside his wallet are just specks of dusts accumulating.
Rei would usually visit his favorite place, the swings on the playground. Rei often visits the playground once the sun sets, because the silence calms him down and helps him collect his thoughts throughout the entire day. Even though the world was against Rei, he found solace in spending his hours in the playground, which for him, is quite therapeutic.
After hours of zoning out in the swing, he finally decided to go home, since it was getting dark. He got up from the swing and walked his way home.
While he was walking, he didn't seem to notice the banana peel that he was about to step on. And so, he slipped and hit his head on the cold concrete floor
And yes, you read that right. A banana peel.
Rei cursed in his head "Why is luck being unfriendly to me these past few years?!?! First, my paintings were not well sold, second, I can barely afford food, and now this?! At this point, im just attracting misfortune.. why am I gonna die over some stupid banana peel!?!?"
And there, his last words before death were just cussing out the universe.
After many dreams later, Rei woke up with a sharp and painful headache
"Huu..... my head hurts so bad.. And all of this is caused by one stupid banana peel that a dumb and ignorant person threw!" Rei continued to curse to his heart's content.
As he kept on rambling, he stopped mid sentence, realizing that something felt odd.
" Wait.... Who took me to the hospital while I was knocked out? And this isn't the nearby hospital in my town, where is this place?"
Rei had many questions in his mind that are yet to be answered. "You know what, let me wash up my face first. I need to keep my face clean." Rei walked to the bathroom near his hospital bed.
As he entered the bathroom, he was shocked to see something unbelievable.
"WHO AM I ?!?!?!?!" Rei was flabbergasted and dumbfounded after realizing that the face that he was looking at the mirror right now was not his face at all. "Deep breaths Rei, deep breaths. Let's calm down and stay composed, we dont wanna die over being stressed. One thing I know for sure is that this face clearly isn't mine.. and I have black hair! Not red hair! And I seem to not have my eyeglasses right now.. ah forget about it, there'a something strange though, somehow I feel like I have seen this face before.." Rei was scratching the back of his head, feeling frustrated and puzzled.
After 5 minutes of guessing, Rei finally knew who this charming face was "No way... isn't this the scum villain of the webtoon I used to read, Alexis!?!?!?"
Rei couldn't believe it, his mouth was wide agape and felt very baffled. Out of all the people he could transmigrate to, why must it be the douchebag of his favorite webtoon?
Alexis is a big jerk in the webtoon that Rei used to read, "The tales of a formidable hero". The mc, being Leon.The 'hero' mentioned in the title itself. Alexis was the main villain of the entire story, bullying Leon ever since he was young, from bullying him verbally to being beaten up like a pillow.
As they grew up, the gods seemed to favor Leon, and gave him the almighty ''protagonist's halo". His powers began to level up, and his physical strength imrpoved, suprassing Alexis's strength 10x higher.
Fast forward to Alexis's demise, his life ended when a pack of wolves chased after him, and his flesh was torn into pieces.
Rei did not want to have a fate like that, and was racking out his brain, trying to figure out what he should do to avoid such destiny!
Rei felt goosebumps crawling under his skin, and decided to be cautious of Leon. As Rei was summarizing the entire story, a knock was heard on the door.
"Who could that be?" Rei wondered, showing a hint of curiosity.
Rei opened the door and saw a basket full of flowers, get well cards, and fruits. Who could be sending him these gifts when he is the most cruel character in the webtoon?
"Hmm... that's strange, most of Alexis's acquaintances and relatives are usually distant from him and hated him. So who would send me such lavish and stylish gifts?"
Although the gift sender is still unknown, Rei was still sincerely thankful to the sender of the gift, since Rei has been starving for weeks already.
After Rei was discharged from the hospital, Rei went back to his house, or mansion, rather. Luckily he was familiar with the map around the entire world of this webtoon. His mansion was quite big and luxurious, as expected of a wealthy, infamous man.
Rei washed up, got dressed for bed, and slept. He was so full from the fruits he ate earlier and slept pretty early.
The next day, Rei was dumbfounded. After he woke up, he saw another basket full of gifts right at his front door. "How did the sender know where I live? And how does one make such aesthetic looking gifts.." Rei's head was filled with confusion
As he examined the gift, he noticed an envelope, inside the envelope, it contained a short note that said 'I hope you feel better soon'.
Rei was still curious on who sent him these gifts for the past 2 days, he didn't know anyone that would send Alexis get well gifts and foods. But regardless, he still felt thankful.
After eating breakfast, he decided to go out and buy some other groceries to fill up his fridge. He planned on cooking something warm for his stomache for dinner. Luckily, he was taught some simple culinary dishes when he was young, and also took some cooking classes as his extra curricular activities when he was in high school. So cooking a wide variety of dishes was no big deal to him.
Rei took a shower and wore casual clothes. Of course, unlike the original Alexis, he didn't really like distasteful fashion styles and preferred being thrifty and never wanted to be the center of attention. He planned on living a simple and peaceful life without worries.
As Rei finished preparing his things, he went out and decided to walk to the nearby grocery store.
