Chapter 351: Karma's Burden
"Uh..."
Kong was taken aback, his eyelids twitching slightly. Could he admit that he had arrived the moment Qian Renxue started her "incessant chatter"?
"I've been here for a while," Kong replied awkwardly.
Hearing this, a flash of embarrassment and indignation crossed Qian Renxue's face.
"You… you heard everything?"
"Nope, I'm deaf."
"You—"
Qian Renxue couldn't help but let out a soft laugh, then sighed. "You could've at least let me know you were here! Now I've made a fool of myself!"
Kong stepped forward and pulled her into an embrace. She squirmed for a moment before relenting.
"What's there to be embarrassed about? If I'd warned you, I wouldn't have gotten to hear those sweet words."
"You're impossible..."
Qian Renxue lowered her head, then suddenly seemed to remember something. "By the way, what have you been up to lately? Why did the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan suddenly relocate?"
This matter puzzled her greatly. The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan now held an unrivaled position of power. How could they just pack up and leave without warning?
"That's exactly what I've been busy with," Kong answered without hesitation. "The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's current status is supreme. If they stayed in Douluo Continent, they'd become the biggest obstacle to unification."
"Reform is inevitable. There was no choice but to move them farther away."
Qian Renxue nodded thoughtfully.
Just as Kong said, if the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan remained, they truly would become the biggest stumbling block!
At present, the clan stood at the peak of its influence, revered and feared by all other sects.
But reverence aside, if push came to shove—especially during sect reforms—every faction would beg the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan to intervene.
If the clan wasn't dealt with now, problems would inevitably arise later.
Would Kong then have to turn against his own kin? That was simply unthinkable.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, Kong glanced at Qian Renxue, his expression shifting.
Ever since he became a god, most soul masters and nobles no longer dared to act as brazenly as before.
Casually killing civilians for amusement?
That would bring real retribution!
As for Qian Renxue, if she ignited a world war, the consequences were obvious—all that sin would fall upon her.
With such overwhelming karma weighing on her, even in her current state, she wouldn't survive it. Even if she became a god, she might not endure!
When Kong had altered the rules before, he had been impartial, granting no exceptions.
If this war unfolded as planned, and the outcome matched expectations, Qian Renxue would likely meet a tragic end long before achieving godhood.
War wasn't the same as purging evil. Not all nobles—or even their servants—were guilty. Among them were innocents.
A conflict of this scale...
"..."
After a moment of silence, Kong thought to himself:
"As your man, you handle the task, and I'll bear the karma. Fair enough."
"I wonder if I can withstand it, though..."
He chuckled, unconcerned.
"Xue'er, give me a kiss!"
At his sudden playfulness, Qian Renxue could only indulge him.
And in that time, Kong quietly transferred her karma onto himself.
Impartiality was key—he wouldn't alter the rules again.

Meanwhile, on Tang San's side...
At this moment, Tang San was utterly dumbfounded.
He never expected that his poisoning scheme would be exposed!
"Eat up! Such delicious spicy rabbit heads—why aren't you eating them?!"
Tang San wanted to cry. He couldn't figure out where he had gone wrong. How had these locals discovered his poison?
His toxin was colorless, odorless, undetectable even by silver.
His method of administering it had been flawless—even a Soul Douluo shouldn't have noticed!
As for Bai He, he hadn't taken the old man seriously at all.
"Uncle-grandfather? Cousin? Just a bit of hardship, that's all."
"Since you've found me out, I, Tang San, won't pretend anymore."
Tang San spoke expressionlessly. After a pause, he asked in confusion, "But how exactly did you discover the poison? No one here should have been able to detect my toxin."
Hearing this, the group fell silent. They glanced at Yang Wudi, then back at Tang San.
Tai Tan sighed. "Fortunately, I assumed that as the master's son, you should have known about the Four Clans' background. That's why I never mentioned Old Yang's expertise to you."
"The Po Clan was responsible for alchemy back when we served the Clear Sky Sect! Who would've thought you didn't know this?"
The others suddenly understood—Tai Tan had assumed Tang San was already informed, so he hadn't bothered explaining. But Tang San remained ignorant and never asked, which was why he dared to poison them right under Yang Wudi's nose.
Tang San: "..."
You think this is funny?
He shot Tai Tan a deep glare. If only Tai Tan had mentioned the Po Clan's specialty, things wouldn't have come to this!
Yang Wudi's eyelid twitched as he stared at Tang San, then at Tai Tan.
Damn it. Tai Tan shared all kinds of important intel, yet forgot to mention the alchemy part?
Fate must have spared them!
"Tang San," Tai Tan said gravely, "I've treated you well. Why would you scheme against us?"
This was what puzzled him most. Tang San had no reason to harm the Four Clans. Had he simply negotiated properly, the other three clans might have willingly followed him.
With twin martial souls and already a Soul Sage, Tang San's future achievements were guaranteed. Pledging allegiance to him wouldn't have been unusual.
"Why?" Tang San's eyes burned with a feral intensity. "For rapid strength, of course!"
"If I refined all of you, I could've broken through to Titled Douluo! Why—why couldn't you just let me have this?!"
No point pretending now. His pupils were bloodshot, his gaze animalistic.
"If I devoured you, then your clansmen, I could've gone even further beyond Titled Douluo!"
The faces of everyone present darkened.
"You—you're actually a fallen one!" Tai Tan gasped in realization. "No wonder you advanced to Soul Sage so quickly."
"Soul Sage?!" The others stiffened, sucking in sharp breaths. Tang San was already at that level?
"Why waste words? Kill this bastard now—!" Yang Wudi slammed the table. Thankfully, the Defending Clan's furniture was sturdy, or it would've shattered.
"Tang San," Tai Tan said coldly, "your actions today have earned you a death sentence. If I ever see the master again, I'll report this to him personally."
"Whether he executes me for it... no longer matters."
