"What's wrong?" Lin Feng asked curiously after hearing Xia Lalan's sentence cut-off midway. He wondered what else she wanted to say—why did she stop halfway?
"It's nothing… nothing…" Xia Lalan stammered, visibly flustered upon hearing Lin Feng's question. Her heart raced like a small rabbit trapped in a cage, unsure of what to do next.
"As long as everything's fine." Seeing Xia Lalan's panicked demeanor, Lin Feng instantly understood what she wanted to say. But since Xia Lalan didn't bring it up, he wouldn't force the issue, lest she felt awkward. He decided to wait until she sorted out her thoughts and was ready.
