The two left the Dao Lord Hall, with Shengxin leading Lin Moyu elsewhere. The Heaven and Earth Battlefield was filled with formations large formations nested with small ones, and small ones linked to even larger ones. Many of these formations had overlapping functions, and sometimes hundreds of formations with the same function were nested together.
To someone not skilled in formations, this would seem inefficient why use hundreds of formations when one big one would do? In most places, that would be true, but here, it made sense. A faint stench lingered there the stench of the Great Dao, undetectable to ordinary people, but powerful cultivators could sense it with their souls. The source was curses impurities and filth of the Great Dao.
Lin Moyu had smelled something similar before, when facing the Lord of Curses. At that time, the Lord of Curses had spread his filth into the Black Blood Realm, which gave off a similar odor. But the Black Blood Realm's stench was even worse, indicating the Lord of Curses had been even more polluted then.
