Chapter 626 - 625. Deadpool Taken Away by the TVA

Everyone present instantly lost all their strength, collapsing to the ground like shattered sacks.

But Alex and Pierce still didn't dare to relax. One continued to maintain the energy's stability, while the other used his last bit of strength to fasten the metal plate and flip over the Time Resetter.

Seeing the energy inside the Time Resetter fully return to its orange state and stabilize, Pierce finally released his grip, gasping for air like a dehydrated fish.

At the same time, Alex put down his hands, forcing himself to calm his somewhat chaotic breath.

'What exactly is going on?'

Only now did Alex have time to carefully consider the current situation. Until this moment, he hadn't prepared himself to confront the TVA directly.

Although Alex knew that within the Marvel Universe there existed the TVA—a group regulating multiverse timelines, similar to the Time Lords in the DC Universe—he had never heard that the TVA's reach extended into the X-Men's universe.

"Miss, are you sure the universe we've come to is the X-Men universe?"

Alex furrowed his brow, calling Miss Minutes quietly in his mind.

[Sir, your arrival was via the power of the Watcher. Based on data analyzed from the archives, this should indeed be a branch of the X-Men timeline. This was already confirmed earlier.]

If this is the 20th Century Fox X-Men movie universe, then why does the Marvel Universe's TVA appear here!?

Could it be that this is not the TVA he remembers, but some other Time Variance Authority?

Alex frowned, pondering this possibility but quickly dismissed it. According to the TVA's rules, if this place was truly under their jurisdiction, then so many parallel universe branches wouldn't exist.

But if this isn't the "special" TVA, then who left this behind?

Thinking this over, Alex briskly walked to Pierce's side. Ignoring Pierce lying on his back on the ground, Alex bent down and picked up the now quiet Time Resetter.

Playing with the device in his hands, Alex realized that although it was called an hourglass, it looked more like a super miniature lantern, about the size of a smoke bomb. The outer ring was made of bronze-colored metal, inside was a cylindrical glass, and at the center floated an orange line of energy.

'Is this the real Time Resetter from the TVA?'

Sure enough, judging by its appearance, this was the Time Variance Authority he remembered, not the group from the comics.

[Sir, according to analysis, this device contains fragments of the time flow. When unstable, these energies decompose all organic matter they come into contact with and throw it into the time flow—like a massive teleportation device sending all living beings into the void.]

Listening to Miss Minutes's explanation, Alex nodded thoughtfully.

In fact, Alex had already experienced the strength and function of the Time Resetter before crossing over. The ability to erase all organic matter on a time branch completely transcended ordinary cosmic-level power.

Currently, his rank was high enough and he could wield the energy of the entire Wasteland Universe to counter it. Otherwise, this device could have easily thrown everything in this universe to the end of time.

'I need you to transmit the data on this device back. With Valeria's wisdom, she should be able to research the principles behind this device.'

[As you wish, Sir.]

Miss Minutes responded, then began transmitting the data.

This device's power was immense—even across the multiverse. If its power could be controlled, perhaps the Watcher's combat strength could be taken to the next level.

But what Alex most wanted to know right now was the true origin of this TVA.

'Miss, about this TVA, don't you have anything you want to tell me?'

Frowning slightly, Alex murmured quietly in his mind.

Miss Minutes's origin was already very strange. Forget why she mysteriously appeared in the Wasteland Universe—just from all their time spent together, it was absolutely impossible that she had no secrets.

Earlier, Alex had already suspected Miss Minutes. Whether it was her initially erratic behavior or later her intentional or unintentional suggestions for him to create the Watchers and the Sacred Timeline.

All of this seemed like it was being orchestrated by some big hand, and Miss Minutes was the most crucial node in it.

If it weren't for Miss Minutes's existence, none of the crises and experiences along the way would have happened. Most importantly, Miss Minutes possessed the same "perspective" as the TVA.

Alex would never forget that when he first communicated with Miss Minutes, she clearly said she came from the TVA and that she herself was within the Sacred Timeline.

But the problem was, at that time Alex was not in the Marvel Universe but in the Flashpoint One Universe—that is, the DC Universe. By rights, Miss Minutes shouldn't have had such an ability.

Later, due to various things, Alex had pushed those matters out of his mind. But now, facing the real TVA directly, Alex understood that he could no longer ignore these questions.

Upon hearing Alex's question, Miss Minutes looked extremely surprised.

[ Master, I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean.]

"Don't understand?" Alex frowned and gave a dry laugh.

"I just want to know what kind of connection you have with the TVA. I don't care about past matters, and I don't want to know, but right now, we're facing the TVA—I need to know where you stand."

[Of course, I firmly stand on your side.]

Hearing Alex's straightforward words, Miss Minutes immediately expressed her stance and realized what Alex was worried about.

[Master, you're not suspecting I'm a spy, are you?!]

At this moment, Miss Minutes didn't care if anyone else could see her; she floated right in front of Alex and said anxiously.

[You are the great Lord of Time, the supreme existence, naturally my master. How could I betray you? I swear, my memory files have never contained anything about the TVA.]

"Calm down, miss. I'm not accusing you." Alex rubbed his temples. In fact, if Miss Minutes had any ulterior motives, she wouldn't have been acting this way until now.

After all this time traveling, Miss Minutes's role had been obvious. Without her, Alex and Pietro would likely have died long ago in the wars of the Wasteland Universe. Not to mention the powerful abilities Alex now commands.

But for that very reason, Alex was even more puzzled.

"Do you really have no memories at all? I remember you talking about the Sacred Timeline before. If you don't have those memories, then how do you know about it?"

Hearing this, Miss Minutes furrowed her brows and paced back and forth in the air, thinking deeply. After a while, she finally spoke.

[It seems my information processor suffered a major tear earlier. I do know about the Sacred Timeline, and I know the mysteries of time control, and I even know the name TVA. But aside from that, I remember nothing else. These things feel like remnants of the previous generation's data. After rebooting and updating, they were all erased or possibly lost. I haven't found any corresponding error reports, so I don't know exactly what happened.]

"So you mean..." Alex touched his chin, uncertain. "When you rebooted and created new files in the Flashpoint One Universe, your original data all got updated accordingly?"

At that moment, Alex suddenly recalled his first meeting with Miss Minutes.

It was in the mental world, or perhaps a special dimension beyond time and space.

At that time, Miss Minutes wasn't the cheerful joker she is now, but a cold, emotionless, machine-like strange existence.

Back then, she only repeated one phrase—Data lost. System file error.

Got it!

A lightning bolt flashed through Alex's mind.

From the start, Miss Minutes was in a state of data loss. She didn't know Loki or Kang. In her original data, there was only information about the Time Keepers creating the TVA.

But Alex knew very well the Time Keepers didn't actually exist, and Miss Minutes was just an AI created by Kang himself.

That meant the normal Miss Minutes should have fully known this; she couldn't have forgotten even her own creator.

This proved that the factory-reset Miss Minutes was no longer following the original parameters—she lost all detailed information and files about the TVA.

It was even possible that the time controller and Miss Minutes in Alex's hands weren't created by the TVA from the Marvel movie universe, but were instead made by some unknown entity.

This reignited Alex's curiosity about the previous master of Miss Minutes.

What exactly was recorded in those corrupted files? Who was her previous owner? How was she born into this world? Most importantly, what was that rift spanning multiple universes?

But for now, Alex couldn't piece these questions together. Even Miss Minutes herself was clueless and confused.

To find out this information, Alex had to take the initiative to contact the Time Variance Authority and uncover the full story.

And at this moment, a new problem appeared before Alex—his target, Deadpool, had already been taken away by the TVA!
