Back on Earth, it was a relief to know that Tony Stark was alive. But it had been a year now since his last message. For most, life continued. But for a few, the worry increased. Storm raised Dexter alone, returning to the X-Mansion once the boy turned one.
Pepper continued her work as the President, resuming Tony's policies and taking Stark Industries into space mining. Stark Industries was the first and also the leading company. Sure, a few nations tried to threaten with their rockets if not given special rights over 16 Psyche, but Jarvis handled them by releasing a few juicy scandals in those nations.
Since Tony had personally changed the regime in China and Russia before leaving the office, maintaining stability in Asia and Europe was easy. Using all the means at her disposal, Pepper created continental blocks as recognised regions of planet Earth.
Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Australia—The six blocks were then allotted locations on the massive asteroid for mining, and the block itself could rent mining machines from Stark Industries.
Depending on population size, GDP size, and the level of current development, resources were divided. For example, nations that were currently developing or underdeveloped were provided more resources to quickly catch-up, the progress overseen by the United States, and Jarvis' nanobots ensured corruption never took place.
The United States itself didn't receive grand benefits from the asteroid, but still, the country was considered the lone owner of the precious asteroid without any signed documents. It was simply a fact.
By suggesting that there were more asteroids to pull, most nations chose to obey the United States in the hope of prolonged mining opportunities.
Just like that, a year went by.
Kim Jong Un's execution took place. However, North Korea was never given to the South, as Tony had turned the country into his tech utopia. Meanwhile, South Korea was a capitalistic, monopolistic hell even with Iron Guardians.
Speaking of the Iron Guardians, they were no longer just national, but global peace keepers.
Never in the history of humanity did natural disasters become so harmless, all thanks to the Iron Guardians. Crimes, super villains, destruction—all went down.
Despite Tony Stark being away, the world never forgot that name. On the contrary, Tony Stark grew more famous worldwide.
His posters were everywhere. Graffiti of his face were across the world on random walls, under the highways, bridges, or even on trains.
But in the end, Stark Industries, once it reached 5 trillion market cap officially, and unofficially, thousands of quadrillion due to the asteroid, decided to break itself to undo the monopoly that it had become.
The voices were rising about Stark Industries' monopoly. But since Tony was running the Government, no investigation took place.
Soon enough, Stark Industries' vehicle branch and bionics branch was broken apart and some of the patents were made public. Many other branches followed suit.
But the energies and space tech branch were never touched, and were fully kept by Stark Industries under Tony Stark's name.
"Where are you, Tony?"
Pepper sighed in the Oval Office, staring at Tony's portrait hanging on the wall.
"I never thought I'd say this but… it's boring without you."

"Hah! I told you I'd make it!" Tony boasted proudly, sitting in the pilot seat of the spacecraft. "Get ready, Hela—You better kick his ass."
Hela scoffed, ignoring his teases while she occupied the co-pilot seat, arms crossed. She knew what Tony had created, and it was enough to even kill her. When she'd heard about his idea a week ago she ridiculed him for being too ambitious.
In the end, she was pleasurably surprised to find he'd done it. By analyzing the very energy source in his chest, Tony Stark created what she deemed a palm-sized star killer.
"It takes fifteen minutes to charge, Stark. Don't toast your triumph before you've earned it," Hela advised him coldly.
Tony shrugged, stepping off the pilot seat as the ship took over. "Told you—next bit's your rodeo. Anyway, I'm gonna lie down before I have to tango with the purple princess."
Waving, Tony left the cockpit and entered the common rest area of the ship. The ship was fairly big, owned by Nova Corps, well it used to be. It was made for a crew of ten but right now it was just him and the deadly goddess.
Ah, Captain's quarters are sweet. He walked into the spacious captain's room. It was big enough to have a bed on one side, a full table for eating on the other side, with a massive, wide glass panel on one wall that showed the light streaks outside. The room even had its own bathroom with shower, and a study area that looked like an office.
"Jarvis, wake me up in three hours," Tony ordered, removing his shirt and jumping into bed. It wasn't made of a soft mattress, but some sort of a leathery surface. It was still highly comfortable, and perfectly warm.
But then Jarvis responded. "I'm afraid I can't, Sir. It appears your co-pilot is headed this way."
"Why?"

Hela was sitting alone in the cockpit once Tony left. She thought she'd finally have some peace and isolation to think about her next moves. To prepare herself for fighting Thanos with two Infinity Stones.
But for some reason, she never got Tony Stark out of her head. He'd created a destructive weapon that even threatened her life. And he built it out of nothing but ruined scraps of Xandar. It was hard to believe a Midgardian was this intelligent, but she witnessed it all.
Slowly, her interest in Tony and his home planet grew. And now she was there, sitting alone, thinking about him and the condition in which they met.
If anything, she agreed that having Tony around was rather entertaining. But when she felt she'd seen and understood all about him, she remembered the events from Sovereign planet. She was aware of what happened between Tony and the High Priestess. She'd hoped to find Tony and leave the planet together.
But once she was told that he was with the High Priestess, inside the chamber from where Hela could hear loud, endless moans, she just left. She sneered at the pathetic nature of a Midgardian man. She knew what it was, and she loathed it.
Now, however, as she inched closer to possibly her hardest battle yet. A battle which may as well be her last, she couldn't stop thinking about those loud moans.
What could make a female produce such sounds? It was a mere shaft probed within a woman's loins. While she knew what it was, she'd never done it, felt it, so it sounded absurd.
"Well, this could very well be our final encounter. Why waste time pondering when I can simply experience it?"
With that thought in mind, Hela stood up and walked towards the back of the ship, towards the captain's quarters. On the way, she removed the excessive clothes hugging her body, starting with her cape, and then the sleeves. Then erased the fabric covering the entirety of her neck, leaving her slender, long, pale as ash neck bare, along with her shoulders, her collarbone a sleek and strong design.
Clak! Clak!
Her heels echoed in her steps, not bothering to erase the rest of the figure hugging suit she wore for battles. She reckoned it could be removed later in case things proceeded to her taste. She was curious most of all, taking this as a mere experiment.
Yet somehow, she stole a glance of herself on the glossy surface of the wall, giving herself a look. Her eyes sharp and smudged with darkness, her dark hair a beautiful mess, and her thin lips the color of her most sacred part—rosy.
Wooosh!
Without a knock, she opened the sliding door of the captain's quarters and walked inside. Right away she saw Tony Stark resting on the bed, shirtless, his muscles decent with the round contraptions stuck to the middle of his chest. She'd seen it before and it fascinated her.
"Delay your rest, Stark." Hela proudly ordered. "I have use for you yet."
Tony's brows rose, mischief in his eyes and smirk. "Which is?"
Hela noticed that smirk, and she almost felt like leaving. But it was disappointing to not know the source of those moans before possibly dying. Having lived so long, she hoped to experience at least this much.
"No need, you may remain in place. I'll make use of you by myself," Hela declared and waved her slender fingers, tipped with black sharp nails. "I'll see for myself what made the High Priestess scream like that."
Tony's smirk widened, both his arms folding behind his head. "And how will you do that?"
Suddenly, Tony felt his body float an inch above the bedding. Before he realized it, his pants were taken off by magic, and then his shorts, leaving him naked all over, his cock not even awake yet.
"Hmm… that's rather disappointing," Hela murmured at the sight of his masculine tool. "It'll have to do."
