Lydia parted her lips to say thank you, but she paused when she realized the original owner might have been sitting beside El-Pidio instead of Qhah-el. Thus, his statement could either be a mockery, or a dry approval of her action.
"I have been studying, Your Highness," Lydia said calmly as she maintained eye contact.
As she took in his image, her body gradually warmed up, making her throat feel dry.
Deep down, she recognized she's looking at an alpha male, so maddeningly perfect it stirred something primal in her. However, she brushed the feeling aside.
"Then you should study more," Qhah-el said as he turned to the first course which was steaming in front of him.

Lydia waited for his reply, but his perfectly shaped lips remained close.
