In the early morning, a two-horse carriage slowly stopped at the entrance of the manor. Joseph opened the window and cautiously peered inside the manor.
"Sir, Greenburg is quite a distance from here. The road in the latter part is not easy to traverse. We might take some time getting there."
The speaker was a rugged-faced man. He was tall with a furrowed face and exceptionally strong hands.
"Wait a moment, Hen... no, Roger said Chloe has agreed to his request."
As the two were speaking, they saw the main gate of the manor open, and a tall, thin man wearing a knee-length black coat walked out of the room.
He wore a top hat that covered half of his face. Autumn had already arrived, but compared to the season, his woolen overcoat seemed a bit thick.
Roger was wrapped up tightly, his hands empty. Following him was Emily, holding a small leather suitcase, likely only able to hold a few changes of clothes.
"Chloe actually agreed for you to go on this outing?"
