Shika stood in front of a large table, a map of the Hidden Rain Village — Amegakure — spread out in front of him. Around him were all his organisation's members, new and old: Haku, Suigetsu, Karin, Fuu, Utakata, Guren, and Kimimaro. Sasuke and Jugo were still missing, but Shika had no choice. He couldn't wait any longer. Akatsuki was at its weakest right now; this was the best time to attack Amegakure.
Not to mention, he was also sure that he could take Pain now since he had way more chakra in his arsenal after getting Kisame's chakra. Definitely not as much as Pain's own, but still enough that he was confident he could handle all six paths of Pain and even Obito if it came to that.
"We strike now," Shika said clearly. "This is the best time to take action. If I'm right, then Akatsuki will be at its weakest right now. If we play our cards right, then we could end the war they will be pushing eventually, even before it starts."
Everyone listened closely.
Shika pointed to the map. "Their base is heavily guarded, but they should have many strong shinobi. The village is always raining, so we'll use that as cover. We'll split into two teams."
Team One – led by Shika himself with Guren and Kimimaro – would go straight for the center of the village where Pain's tower was. Shika's goal was to face Pain directly. He knew this fight would be the hardest.
Team Two – led by Suigetsu and Haku – would go and disable the chakra sensors and traps. Suigetsu's water abilities were perfect for moving through the rainy city unnoticed, and once that was done, they would take down those insignificant guards.
"What about us?" Utakata asked, suddenly realizing that none of the Jinchuriki were assigned to any job.
"Yes, I'm coming to that. I honestly don't want to have any of you enter into the battlefield if possible since you are their targets," Shika said and immediately saw the arguments coming.
"But..." However, before they could start protesting, he said:
"You'll be on standby. If you see things going south for either Team One or Two, Team Jinchuriki will come to save the day."
That kind of calmed them down, at least.
Shika had also decided to go all out this time around, so he was ready to make some sacrifices if needed.
"Stay sharp," he warned. "Even after I've given you all the information about them, things can go south. Choose your enemies wisely."
Everyone nodded. They knew this was the final battle. If they failed, the Akatsuki would take more Jinchuriki. But if they won — it would finally be over.
Shika looked at each of them. "This is it. Let's end this."
A portal opened just outside the borders of Amegakure. Rain poured down nonstop, just like always. Shika stepped out first, followed by Haku, Suigetsu, Utakata, Karin, and Fuu. Everyone was quiet. The air was tense.
Shika turned to Suigetsu and Haku. "You know your job. Get inside, take out the guards and the chakra sensors. Move fast and don't get seen."
Suigetsu grinned and nodded. "We've got this."
Haku gave a quiet nod. "We'll signal when it's done."
Without another word, the two disappeared into the rain.
Suigetsu used the falling rain to his advantage. His body turned into liquid, slipping through cracks, puddles, and pipes as he made his way into the village. Meanwhile, Haku moved quietly along rooftops, almost like a shadow. His ice mirror technique helped him move quickly and quietly without leaving a trace.
The guards were alert, but they didn't expect anyone to invade during the constant downpour. That gave Haku and Suigetsu the edge. Haku silently froze the first two guards near the outer wall with a thin layer of ice that covered their mouths and chests — they were knocked out cold before they could even shout.
Inside, Suigetsu made it to the chakra sensor array. It was guarded by a few ninja, but with his sword and water body, he moved like a ghost. He knocked one guard unconscious with a quick blow and froze the others in place using a burst of cold water Haku sent in through a mirror.
With the guards down and the sensor disabled, Haku sent a small ice shard flying back through the rain — it was their signal to Shika.
The first step of the plan was a success. The path into Amegakure was now open.
"Now, Team Jinchuriki, I know you guys want the first dibs to kick these fuckers, but no can do. So make sure you all stay here like good boys and girls and enjoy the show while eating popcorn. Only enter the scene when things are going abysmally wrong for us. Is that clear?" I asked the two girls and the man who didn't look very happy right now.
"If you were to act on your own, then why bring us into this organization?"
"To protect you, and I told you it's not permanent. And it's not like I don't need help. I might, and in case I do, I want you to act in. Got it?" Shika replied, a little tired of explaining this all to them.
"Huff."
He heard the girls pout, and Utakata just sighed and made a bubble, only to use it as a makeshift chair.
"You better have some popcorn after that cheesy line."
"Sure do." I shrugged and tossed a scroll at him.
"Kimimaro and Guren, you both are with me. Let's go," I said and marched forward. It was time to take action.
