Chapter 183 - 182: The End of the Dimensional War

In the blink of an eye, Lyon returned to the library of Kamar-Taj.

He first undid the protective enchantments surrounding the World Ring,

then stored the ring back into his inner world.

After that, his powerful spiritual force naturally spread outward.

Passing through two layers of portals, he "saw" the mirror dimensions active in the three major Sanctums, and the situations within each.

In the London Sanctum, Wanda was holding down the front all by herself, while the other sorcerers stood nearby cheering her on. Hulk sat to the side, propping his chin up and pouting.

In the Hong Kong Sanctum, Quicksilver and Wong were working together with others to deal with the demons.

The New York Sanctum was a little different.

In the scene expanded endlessly by the mirror dimension, the several-hundred-meter-tall Mark Armor was seated on the ground, with countless fungal threads sprouting from it, completely sealing off the hell portal.

Judging by the situation, the fungus had even extended deep into the portal, unleashing havoc on the other side in hell.

All that could be said was—typical Avengers. In the middle of battle, they somehow managed to invade the enemy's home turf.

And judging by the fact that hell hadn't retaliated yet, it was clear the main forces weren't home.

That went without saying—the main hell forces had clearly run off to the Dark Dimension to scavenge some scraps.

But now that Dormammu had already returned to the Dark Dimension, the hell lords would likely be swiftly forced back to hell as well.

Lyon extended his hand.

The Space Stone energy that filled his inner world surged outward, carrying part of his power through the portals, penetrating the spatial passages, and entering the worlds on the other side of each of the three portals.

Then, the space energy dispersed, and all of Lyon's injected power exploded in a deafening burst.

Not only did it annihilate countless hellish and dimensional creatures, it also conveniently destroyed the spatial passages.

"The war is over. Good work, everyone."

Lyon's voice echoed in the ears of everyone at the three major Sanctums.

Whether they were still fighting or merely watching the battles unfold, the sorcerers' eyes lit up in unison.

The Sorcerer Supreme was back!

All of them knew that Lyon had gone to confront Dormammu.

Since he had returned safely, that meant Dormammu had retreated, and Earth was safe!

"All the spatial rifts opened by other dimensions have been destroyed. You may all return now."

Lyon's voice echoed in everyone's ears, carrying with it a comforting power that soothed the heart.

The sorcerers responsible for maintaining the mirror dimensions all stopped casting their spells.

The mirrored worlds shattered, and everyone returned to reality, filing through the portals back to Kamar-Taj.

The same group of sorcerers who had gathered here a month ago for the funeral of the Ancient One now assembled once again.

Lyon had Wong and Mordo lead everyone to the training ground to rest.

Half an hour later—

All the sorcerers were seated cross-legged on the training ground, every pair of eyes filled with anticipation, fixed on Lyon.

The departure of the Ancient One had left them lost, like night had fallen and the guiding moonlight had suddenly vanished.

But Lyon had, time and again, proven through his actions—

Though they had lost the gentle brilliance of the moon, what they had gained was the blazing radiance of the sun.

Now, everyone wanted to hear their new Sorcerer Supreme speak—how exactly had he forced Dormammu to retreat?

But as Lyon faced the hundreds of eyes gleaming under the sun, he didn't vividly recount his battle with Dormammu.

Instead, he suddenly pulled out a massive octopus from his inner world.

"From the look in your eyes, I can see a craving… for good food."

Lyon expertly set up a barbecue grill. "Then let the second Kamar-Taj barbecue feast… begin!"

"Anyone feel like standing up and singing? Same rules as last time—the first piece of grilled meat goes to the one with the best voice!"

The sudden and completely unexpected announcement nearly threw everyone's backs out.

The sorcerers were all dumbfounded on the spot.

But once they processed it, they scrambled to their feet one after another: "Me, me! I've been practicing for a whole month—I'll sound amazing this time!"

For the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, who paid a price for every spell they cast,

there was nothing more healing after a battle than Lyon's magical cooking, which could even restore their bodies.

In the month since, their singing had improved quite a bit.

Even Master Hamir—who last time sang the Classic of Purity—this time performed The River All Red.

Though his voice still sounded like he was sending someone off to the afterlife, at least he was actually singing this time.

Amid the singing and dancing, Tony and a few others gathered around Lyon, eating and chatting as they did.

"This octopus is really not bad. You better send some more to my place later," Tony said, holding a tentacle over half a meter long in his hand.

"If possible, I'd like some too," Wong took the chance to raise his hand.

Floating beside Hulk, astral-form Banner nodded repeatedly. "Me too, I haven't had any yet!"

Since Hulk rarely got to come out, there was no way he was going back to sleep now—especially with a tentacle in each hand, he was even less willing.

Pietro also raised his hand timidly, "Um… I'd like some too."

"Alright, alright, everyone can have some. I've got plenty of the stuff stocked up," Lyon agreed to them all.

"You've had so much and never shared it before?" Tony bumped shoulders with Lyon. "Also, if you hadn't closed the portal just now, I was about to charge through hell myself!"

Clearly, he was here to claim credit.

Wanda raised her chin proudly. "I handled all the giant octopuses by myself."

Hulk, hearing that, curled his lip and silently turned away to keep gnawing on his tentacle.

"Hey! Can we not talk about those tentacles? What we're eating now is actual octopus—what we just fought was disgusting!" Mordo's face darkened.

Clearly, he had not forgotten the humiliation of being tossed around by a tentacled monster.

No one paid Mordo any mind.

"Hmph, I wasn't bad either. I slit every one of those demons' throats!" Pietro wiped the tip of his nose proudly.

Wong chimed in, "But I'm the one who finished most of them off!"

Aside from Mordo and Hulk, everyone gathered around Lyon wore the same expression—"Please, compliment me!"

"I see how it is," Lyon pointed around the group. "Each of you contributed! Your unique talents crushed the enemy completely!"

He didn't leave out Mordo and Hulk either: "And Hulk—your emotional control this time was truly impressive. As for Mordo, the minions of the Eye Demon mess with your mind—that wasn't easy. Well done!"

Everyone immediately beamed with satisfaction after being praised by Lyon.

Especially Pietro—

Though he pretended to casually continue eating octopus, the corners of his mouth had already crept up to his ears.

This was praise from the Sorcerer Supreme/Superman/big bro—how could anyone not be delighted?

But then Lyon shifted his tone:

"However, the dimensional creatures and hell demons we just fought—those were the lowest-level beings."

"Dimensional demon gods… hell lords… they're all on the same level as, or even stronger than, Dormammu."

"If you want to protect Earth, you all still need to get stronger!"

To prepare for the potentially looming multiversal crisis, Lyon knew that beyond just improving himself, he needed to let everyone else feel some pressure too.

But for those who had never encountered a dimensional demon god, they obviously had no real sense of how terrifying that level could be.

"Speaking of Dormammu," Tony rubbed his chin, "I've been meaning to ask since you got back—just how strong is Dormammu? And how did you drive him off?"

The sorcerers around them perked up at Tony's question, all turning their eyes toward Lyon, ears sharp with anticipation.

Lyon looked around at everyone and smiled. "Telling the story would be too boring—why don't we all watch it instead?"

With that, he splashed a bottle of water into the air, then shaped it with magic into a floating movie screen, suspending it midair.

Then he touched his forehead with one finger and slowly drew out a glowing azure thread, casting it into the screen.

This was a spell similar to the Pensieve from Harry Potter—capable of directly playing back extracted memories.
