"Still sleeping? Do you even realize how many people you've messed with recently?"
Alexander grabbed Princess Syalis and hoisted her into the air. But before he could continue scolding her, Nero stepped in.
'Whoosh!'
Nero pulled Princess Syalis into her arms, cradling the princess like a precious doll. She glared at Alexander with fierce determination, as though daring him to proceed.
"Wait… what's going on here? I'm standing up for you, and now you're turning on me?!" Alexander thought, baffled.
Meanwhile, Princess Syalis opened her eyes slowly. She looked around at the group of people surrounding her, her expression entirely blank.
"Ugh," Alexander sighed, feeling utterly drained. "How did I end up dealing with someone like this?"
At that moment, the system's voice echoed in his mind.
"Ding-dong! Congratulations, Master, for encountering Descendant Princess Syalis of the Night. You have been awarded a random ability: Manual Ability—MAX!"
"... Manual Ability—MAX?" Alexander's eyebrow twitched. "TF is Manual Ability is MAX, for crying out loud. And you're a Princess? A future candidate for Demon King, no less? And this is what you give me?!"
Looking at the unbothered princess in front of him, Alexander gave up hope. Changing her fate seemed utterly pointless. After all, in Demon King Castle, she ate, drank, and laze around all day, seemingly content with her life.
"Forget it," Alexander muttered, deciding to focus on the present situation. "First things first, let's confiscate everything you've stolen."
'Whoosh!'
Hearing this, Princess Syalis's eyes sparkled momentarily. She scampered to the side, gathered up the garbage from the trash can into a convenience bag, and presented it to Alexander as if it were treasure.
Alexander stared at the bag of soda cans, plastic wrappers, and chip packets. A black line metaphorically formed across his forehead.
"Hey! I said confiscate, not collect trash for me! And do you even realize the situation you're in? This isn't your world—it's the Otherworld!"
The Princess of Night, unperturbed, merely shrugged.
Alexander let out another weary sigh. Talking to this girl was exhausting.
"Fine. Let's start with this…"
"This is the bed," Princess Princess Syalis murmured.
"I know it's a bed, but why does this wood look so familiar to me?"
"I picked it up outside," Princess Syalis replied without a hint of guilt.
'Whoosh!'
Kurama suddenly perked up. "That's it! This is the wood from Brother Gugalanna's cowshed! His cowshed is still leaking because of this!"
Alexander stared at the bed-turned-wood, suppressing another sigh. "Sigh. I'll find more wood for Gugalanna later. And this?"
He picked up Princess Syalis's pillow and squeezed it. "This pillow… feels suspiciously good."
"Huh?" Gabriel's eyes widened in realization. She darted forward, grabbed the pillow, and tore it open.
Inside were snow-white angel feathers, glowing faintly with a holy light. Gabriel's face turned pale.
"My feathers! Those are my feathers!" she screamed. Turning to Alexander, she declared, "Don't stop me—I'm going to kill her!"
From nowhere, Gabriel pulled out a horn, the Horn of Doom.
Alexander, unimpressed, sighed yet again. "Calm down. Blowing that thing won't do any good in this world."
Gabriel pouted, clearly aggrieved, but relented.
Alexander turned back to the princess, picking up yet another object.
"This is a precious weapon. You stole it, so it's being confiscated!"
He handed the flaming sword to Nero, who took it without hesitation. However, Princess Syalis's gaze remained locked on the flame, her large eyes filled with longing.
"Do you… want it?" Nero asked, noticing the princess's expression.
"Yeah," Princess Syalis replied with a small nod.
Moved by her innocence, Nero returned the flaming sword to its original place. With a generous smile, she said, "It's fine. You can borrow it for now. I can call it back whenever I need it."
'Whoosh!'
Princess Syalis's eyes lit up with joy. Looking at Nero, she whispered, "You… are a good person."
"Huh?"
Receiving the proverbial "good person card," Nero beamed with happiness. Hugging the princess tightly, she rubbed her cheek against Princess Syalis's, completely charmed.
Alexander, watching Nero's antics, could only shake his head.
"Forget it. Let's just call it a day. I still need to head back to Kurumi World. You all… try to get along."
With that, Alexander turned and walked away.
Sure enough, can someone's cuteness always excuse their actions?
