Chapter 33 - IN MARRIAGE, PREGNANT FOR EX

Careful with her choice of words, "Oh, sorry! Um... I'm glad to inform you that a blessing of a child awaits your family."

The doctor was so happy that she was able to reveal what she was conc sure was to be good news to the ears of the couple.

However, neither Bob Lee nor Nadia Browne seemed moved by the news when they heard it. Each of them seemed sort of an immediate response to put across upon the matter.

There were lingering thoughts between the two for some seconds on the bed where they were sitting.

Standing aside with eyes at the couple, the doctor waited for a positive reaction because that's all she expected from these two happy married young people.

"Isn't this so amazing?" She questioned, and a warm smile written on her cheeks was just enough to confirm the fire of well wishes that was burning inside her heart for the couple.

As a man, Bob Lee had to say something in order not to let the doctor's efforts go in vain.

Sudden and abrupt, "w wait!" In disbelief, he stuttered, up on his feet. "You mean my wife who just woke up from coma is carrying another life inside her?"

Shocked, seeming confounded, he switched eyes from the doctor and set them at his wife.

"Two weeks pregnant _ that's what the tastes proved," the doctor laid stress on the point.

But, as soon as she replied that two weeks, immediately Nadia Browne's mind flipped, recalling a moment in a Range Rover when her body and her ex boyfriend's pressed hard together, intimately.

"Two weeks!" Bob Lee wondered, whispering to himself.

"Am finished!" Nadia surrendered a panic cry at the back of her mind.

Fear struck, at the edge of the sick bed where she was sitting, immediately her heart began to race, making her uncomfortable. Puzzled, navigating her stuck mind as she searched for a better explanation, a good lie to tell, worries wrote on Nadia's stunning face.

A voice within telling her the milk is already spilled, Nadia Browne frightfully waited for an angry reaction, more so a burst out from her husband, with rude questions.

Suddenly, Bob Lee dropped down on knees infront of her.

A face which was frowned in disbelief, slowly by slowly began to wear a smile. He placed a hand on her stomach.

"Wow!" He blurted.

Every move he made, every word he spoke including the smile he wore raised Nadia's tension higher. Her hands trembling, her lips tried to open in a bid to bring words out of her mouth but instead, they closed back up.

She didn't know what to say or even what to do, and yet every single step he took kneeling down with his palm on her stomach triggered discomfort.

So worried, Nadia Browne was on the verge of peeing in pants.

"This...," he posed a bit, "is what's meant by being given a second chance," he went slow and soft with his words. "Three of us are here now, survivors of such a terrible accident...!" like a yellow food colour, his pure bright eyes suddenly turned yellowish tingle and a tear streamed down on his cheek.

Bob Lee deeply exhaled.

In an open-mouthed gaze, Nadia signed. She couldn't believe how the clock had twisted in her favour. Fear levels began to drop and her high racing heart normalised.

Standing there watching, admiring them with positive jeolous, the doctor got so touched by the love the husband was showering his wife.

With her face frowned affectionately, barely she could take it anymore that she decided to give them space.

"Excuse me," said the doctor, stepping out of the room.

Nadia Browne was like a bush rabbit out of sharp eagle claws at the moment. On a deep breathe, accompanied by a smile of guilt, her high tension leveled down.

On his feet Bob Lee raised and sat on the bed right beside her shoulder to shoulder. Happily he smiled in her face and passed his left hand to touch her stomach once again.

"Little one in there," he spoke with a hand on Nadia's stomach, "you bound to see the light of the earth; the beauty of the moon and the stars up in the dark skies, and your skin will feel the warmth of a brightly shining sun. You will grow well inside your mother's womb and I will happily be here, too ready to receive you with my two warm hands when that moment comes."

Bob Lee's words were really heartfelt.

All Nadia Browne could do at the moment was to continue smiling, even though she was smiling out of guilt from the fact that the child in her womb belonged to another man.

She kept it a secret.

With a warm face, Bob Lee walked out of the patients' room to meet his buddies who were waiting outside, leaving his wife alone in the room.

"What with the joy?" One asked as they came forward to link up with him but he didn't reveal the secret to them.

"Family affairs," he responded.

Amid mingling with his friends, here arrived his wife's ex boyfriend Marlon. Marlon knew Bob Lee by appearance but Bob Lee had no idea about Marlon's existence.

He had no idea about the third party.

Marlon, as he passed by, he cast a furtive glance in their direction.

However, Sonia knew Marlon so well. From a distance, as she was sharing a word with her best friend's doctor, she spotted him walking past Bob Lee and his friends.

As Marlon headed to the patients' room to pay his visit to Nadia Browne "excuse me," Sonia stood in his way, blocking his path.

"Oh Sonia, long time no see!" Said boldly, Marlon.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Rudely, Sonia asked him.

"Am here to see my girlfriend," he answered with a calm smile.

"You're kidding! You seem out of your mind. For your information if you didn't know, Nadia is now a happily married woman _ you lost your way!" Sonia's words were unkind.

"Mmh," he laughed it off indifferently, "happily married you say? So tell me, did she make the vows while in coma? I don't understand!"

"What are you trying to insinuate?" Sonia couldn't understand Marlon's bold pretence.

"It's now that I've come to realize both of you were never true friends," Marlon said jokingly.

Sonia was pissed off by his words and in a small voice, "It doesn't matter what you think, you can use your mouth to speak whatever that comforts you; stay away from her!" She quarreled.

"Wow..., it's just obvious she never told you about what happened at the club the night she got an accident," Marlon threw a stone in the bush, prepared to face what was going to jump out.

"What do you mean!?" Sonia's anger calmed down immediately she realized that Marlon seemed to have been at the same club where her friend Nadia Browne and husband Bob Lee were, two weeks ago.

"I don't mean to brag," he said, "but am excellent in between her thighs."
