Charlotte and Mason were in the blind spot of the void creature when it released its death ray. What they hadn't expected, however, was how fast that beam would travel.
They expected it to be powerful, no doubt, but not that fast!
Mason's barriers did not last more than a split second before they were completely shattered. Luckily for Zol, the fragments of earth he used in his defence bought him a split second to try and move out of the way.
Using every last bit of his strength and speed, the Knight guardian dived downwards, trying to get out of the way of the beam. Even then, the beam was already close, too close.
'Here goes nothing!'
Zol exclaimed inwardly, his eyes glowing a bright green as he attempted to apply his telekinetic force on the beam. He tried to slow it down long enough for him to get out of the way.
Even so...
The beam swallowed his legs, from the area slightly above the knees to his toes; everything was swallowed. His armour couldn't even do a damn thing.
