Chapter 269 - 261: Fierce Battle on the Coastline

Lin Lan and Sui Qiong landed on the top of a high-rise building, which overlooked the entire coastline, and immediately saw a scene that made his hair stand on end.

The ocean within his line of sight had already boiled.

Upon closer inspection, countless twisted, dark green tentacles were rising from the seabed, stirring the ocean's surface and creating towering waves.

Five or six ugly, dark green Leviathans, each over ten meters tall, writhed their bodies as they emerged from the water, their rain-soaked forms stepping onto the shore, emitting shrill screams as they staggered towards Yunhai City.

From the sea covered by tentacles, large blue tracers occasionally swept across the area, landing on the chessboard ship girls and coastal defense artillery who were still resisting.

These were the Siren executors using artillery to cover the Leviathans' landing.

Clearly, these five or six Leviathans were just appetizers. More Leviathans, with their half-submerged bodies already rising above the water, were getting closer to the shore.

These hideous deep-sea monsters, born from the abyss of the dark ocean, had now become siege weapons controlled by the Sirens.

They swung their tentacles, sweeping away any enemies blocking their path.

They were like the destroyers of civilization, bringing darkness to the land, aiming to extinguish the torch of Orlan.

But it was obvious that while they could likely accomplish all of this, it would not happen in this instance.

"Boom!"

With a resounding cannon blast that echoed along the coast, one Leviathan, which had been about to destroy a coastal defense fortress with its raised tentacle, suddenly exploded.

Its dark green blood and flesh splattered everywhere.

The Leviathan, which had seemed impervious to artillery just moments ago, was completely obliterated in a single shot, with not even a single intact piece of it remaining.

"Tsk, what a disgusting creature, there's no aesthetic value at all."

Deutschland, watching from afar as the Leviathan was turned to mush, couldn't help but frown, glancing at the still-smoking barrel of the main cannon on Ulrich's battleship.

"Don't underestimate these monsters. They must have been modified by the Sirens.

Did you see that just now? My main cannon's shell actually paused slightly in front of those Leviathans."

Rainwater slid down Ulrich's fair face, but it didn't affect the calm thinking of this Ironblood battleship girl at all.

And Ulrich's cannon strike successfully diverted the attention of the other Leviathans that had already landed.

"Heh, let's take care of these creatures on the shore first!"

Agir flicked his silver hair, his golden vertical pupils gleaming with confidence as he smirked.

"Zeppelin, August, have your carrier planes primarily attack the Siren fleet and Leviathans at sea. Leave these ones on the shore to us."

Ulrich agreed with Agir's proposal and aimed the main cannon of the battleship dragon at another Leviathan:

"Everyone, fire at the Leviathans from a distance. We can't show off our mobility on the shore, so be careful of Siren artillery fire."

Upon receiving Ulrich's orders, all the Ironblood ship girls readied their main cannons and aimed at the slow-moving Leviathans on the shore, opening fire.

"Boom! Boom!"

The artillery of the Ironblood ship girls unleashed on the shore, and the massive explosions even drowned out the thunder in the sky.

In less than a minute, the five or six Leviathans on the shore were reduced to minced meat, leaving only the severed dark green tentacles twitching on the ground.

Although these Leviathans had clearly become more difficult to handle due to Siren technology, they were still just tougher target practice without any long-range counterattacks.

But this was just the beginning. More and more Leviathans emerged from the sea, getting closer and closer to the shore.

And it was clear that the Siren fleet had been alerted by the sounds of Ulrich's artillery.

Not only did dozens of Siren ships with eerie blue lines, such as the Explorer II and Tracker II types, rush from all directions of the ocean, but endless II-type Siren mass-produced ships also emerged from the deep waters.

The real battle had officially begun.

However, there was some good news.

After Ulrich and the others dealt with the Leviathans that had landed, the pressure on the coastal defense artillery fortresses eased, and their barrels were aimed back at the sea.

Moreover, many of the remaining chessboard ship girls from Yunhai City's port area and those just arriving on the battlefield noticed Ulrich and the others, and began to converge towards them.

There were at least a dozen of them.

"Ulrich, clear the Leviathans by the coast first. Once we're at sea, we can release mass-produced units to cover the operation!"

Although Count Zeppelin and August's carrier planes were powerful, they were severely restricted when facing the overwhelming Siren fleet, which seemed to be releasing carrier planes like there was no cost.

So, after Count Zeppelin recovered a batch of bombers that had destroyed two Leviathans at sea, he turned to Ulrich with a suggestion to counter the Sirens with mass-produced units.

"Everyone, charge towards the coast!"

Ulrich, understanding their current lack of aerial power to face the vast Siren army, quickly agreed to Count Zeppelin's suggestion.

After all, the sea was the battlefield for their ship girls.

Once at sea, whether releasing the Ironblood mass-produced ships for fire support and air support or evading Siren artillery fire, they would be much more capable than fighting on land.

The most crucial point was that if they were defending the shore, their main offensive tools—torpedoes from destroyers and the Wolfpack—would be ineffective, drastically reducing their combat efficiency.

So, with Agir, Roon, Deutschland, and Spee charging ahead, using artillery to clear the path, the group advanced step by step.

After crossing the area stained dark green by the Leviathan's remains, they finally reached the coast.

At this point, over a dozen of the Orlan chessboard ship girls had gathered to fight alongside them, continuously assisting with artillery suppression against the Siren fleet.

"Now, let's release the mass-produced ships!"

"Wolfpack, don't stay too far from us once you dive. Use torpedoes to strike the Leviathans!"

Seeing that everyone had successfully made it onto the deep green sea surface, Ulrich loudly issued her orders.

The others immediately released their mass-produced ships from their storage.

In an instant, over twenty black and red Ironblood mass-produced warships appeared as though they had materialized from the void, emerging on the sea surface.

Once the mass-produced ships appeared, their automated systems engaged the anti-aircraft artillery, significantly reducing the air defense pressure on the group.

Previously, due to oil restrictions, they had been unable to deploy mass-produced ships for combat on a large scale.

Using these weak mass-produced ships in battle had been a waste of oil, and they often only deployed them for reconnaissance or as platforms for rest during long-distance voyages.

But now, with Lin Lan's return and the large oil supply from the Tian'ou Group, their oil reserves were sufficient to support the use of mass-produced ships against the Sirens.

The Ironblood mass-produced aircraft carriers released their planes, assisting Zeppelin and August's carrier planes in clearing the surrounding Siren aircraft.

Under the intense bombardment and torpedo attacks, the Siren Explorer and Tracker II ships, which had not yet fired a shot, were destroyed before they could even react.

They were completely powerless.

In just a few minutes, the area was completely cleared of Sirens and Leviathans, and there were no more targets to attack.

The efficiency with which the Ironblood fleet hunted down the Sirens, with no casualties, left the nearby chessboard ship girls stunned, unable to intervene.

After all, the ship girls from Lin Lan's port area had already fought the Sirens countless times before.

Whether it was battle experience, the power boost from awakening their minds, or the equipment Lin Lan had provided, they could easily crush the main Siren fleet.

And all of this had been achieved without even using the mass-produced ships.

Lin Lan, watching the battle through binoculars from the high-rise building, saw all of this, especially the fruitful results brought by the deployment of the Ironblood mass-produced ships. His mouth twitched slightly.

In the game, players couldn't use mass-produced warships.

Judging by the situation, if the game's developers added a feature that allowed players to use mass-produced ships in the story, it would definitely be a pay-to-win feature.

But even with the complaints, the battle was far from over.

Through his binoculars, Lin Lan saw that the Leviathans on the distant sea had all focused on the Ironblood fleet, their tentacles moving towards them in a continuous stream.

And the Siren fleet's main force was also surging towards them like a tidal wave. Lin Lan even vaguely saw more than ten Leader II-type ships approaching.

The most critical point was… the true leader of this Siren attack, the Leviathan of the sea, had not yet appeared within his sight.
