Dozens of portals flickered in the living room, emitting a bluish glow and crackling with sparks.
"Wow, so many circles!" Gwen exclaimed in surprise, appearing in the doorway of the mansion. Today she was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, a black pleated skirt, and gray tights – an autumn outfit perfect for this time of year. At home, she preferred not to wear her usual lolita dress, although it was her favorite outfit, created by Isolde. However, she felt it didn't quite fit in with the modern world, so this outfit remained in her closet.
Meanwhile, the magic hat, which had been chasing Gwen, slowly hovered beside her. It was adorned with a black bow, adding a touch of elegance thanks to the combination of black and purple. The bow wasn't sewn on, but carefully tied around the hat to avoid damaging its magical fabric, as Gwen knew the hat was afraid of needles. So she came up with this method so the hat could accept her gift.
Entering the living room, she saw Noah sitting on the sofa. In one hand, he held a thick book, and with the other, he drew magical symbols in the air. The book resting on his palm flipped its pages on its own under the influence of magic. Numerous portals appeared around him, surrounding him on all sides. This sight surprised Gwen so much that she froze for a moment.
"Gwen? You're here already?" Noticing her, Noah stopped his magical exercises and put the book aside.
A cup, from which steam was still rising, stood on the table in front of him. Blitzcrank had brewed tea several times while Noah was immersed in reading an ancient book titled "The Gate of Secrets." He had almost finished it – about two-thirds remained. The book significantly expanded his understanding of portal magic, and he already felt that he would soon be able to open them without using his hands.
"What are you doing, Noah? Where did all these circles come from?" Gwen asked curiously, approaching him.
The magic hat also flew up to Noah, swaying slightly, showing off its bow. It seemed to want to know his opinion on its new decoration.
Noah gently stroked the hat, feeling the smoothness of its surface, and praised it, which delighted the hat. It began to spin joyfully in the air.
"These are portals, Gwen. You can use them to go anywhere," Noah explained. But then he remembered something important.
"By the way, Gwen, you haven't read that book I gave you, have you?" He remembered that he had once suggested to Lissandra and Gwen that they study magic with him. When he brought the books from Kamar-Taj, he instructed Lissandra to study them and help Gwen learn magic.
Lissandra possessed incredible learning speed thanks to her mechanical abilities and immediately mastered most of the magical practices. And after she learned the spells, it was Gwen's turn. Noah gave her all the books, hoping she would also begin her training. However, judging by her reaction, she didn't even know what a portal looked like.
"Uh... Well, hehe, the books are so thick, I haven't had time to read them yet," Gwen smiled sheepishly, like a child caught red-handed.
Noah shook his head with slight regret. He knew that after arriving in this world, Gwen had become a true homebody, preferring to sew clothes or play video games. Getting her attention to thick magical tomes was no easy task.
"Gwen, magic can be very useful. If you learn it, it will open up many possibilities for you."
"For example, this portal spell. Once you master it, you can travel anywhere in the world. Let's say you see a beautiful place online; with a portal, you can be there in an instant," Noah said, opening another portal, which this time didn't show any location, but simply shimmered with blue light.
"Gwen, do you want to go somewhere now?" Noah asked.
"Hmm... Oh! I've got it! I want to see China! I recently saw a lot of videos online with tourist attractions from there; I want to see them for myself!" Gwen replied enthusiastically.
"China, you say? An unexpected choice. That's my homeland, so if you want, I can take you there often," Noah said with a smile, and the blue portal began to change.
"Well, let's go and see. It's nighttime there now, but I've chosen a great place," he stood up and invited her to step through the portal with him.
"Yes, yes!"
They stepped into the portal and crossed a vast distance, finding themselves in China.
When they passed through the portal, their feet landed on grass; meadows stretched around them, and there wasn't a single trace of human construction in sight.
"Where are we?" Gwen asked curiously, looking around. The air here was cool, and she felt a slight chill. This was the Tibetan Plateau, known for its large temperature differences between day and night.
"This is Tibet. Look up," Noah pointed at the sky, and she followed his finger.
"Wow! It's so beautiful!"
A cloudless starry night stretched before them, and thousands of stars seemed to paint a vibrant picture on the black canvas. The Milky Way stretched across the center of the sky, traversing the endless expanse.
Such a sight was impossible to see in big cities, where the sky was always hidden under a veil of pollution. Life in noisy megacities left no time for such views, but this starry sky was like a breath of fresh air for the soul, bringing with it tranquility.
"This is incredible! I've only seen this on a computer screen!" Gwen exclaimed with delight.
Noah smiled and lay down on the soft grass, having previously used magic to drive away all the small insects. Gwen followed suit and settled down beside him. An incredible silence and tranquility reigned under this starry sky.
Looking at the Milky Way, he became lost in thought. He imagined what would happen when he obtained the power of the Dark Star and Cosmic skin lines, and the strongest champion, Aurelion Sol, and what the world would look like after that. These thoughts filled him with anticipation.
Meanwhile, Gwen continued to admire the scenery without taking her eyes off it. She firmly decided that she would return home and definitely start reading those magic books Noah had given her. At the very least, she wanted to learn how to open portals.
The stars continued their eternal journey, rotating along with the Earth.
