As the door opens, I see humans walking around with ghosts beside them. Realising that I have appeared in an army of ghosts, I exit my TARDIS, closing the door behind me, and then head directly to Jackie's apartment.
Once at the door, I open it, knowing full well that despite her experience with the Slitheen, she still leaves it unlocked when she is home. I make sure to close the door behind me before calling Jackie.
Hearing me, Jackie comes out of the kitchen," Well, look who shows up after disappearing. After saying goodbye," I laugh at her words since for me it's been no more than a few days" Well Jackie first off it's good to see you but despite it being a long time for you, for me, it's been a few days at best, time machine remember, although I may have got lucky to land here, new TARDIS and all".
After Jackie finally started to explain about the ghost, not that I needed it, but it did give me an idea of when I arrived and whether the doctor was already there or not, surprisingly, I landed a week before the Doctor was supposed to arrive.
This means I a going to need to wait, although unlike the Doctor, I know the ghosts are cybermen, not just because I have seen the episode, even in this form, I can feel them through my mechanical force, I could do something now, but I need things to playout how they did in the episode I want to test something later on, but for that to happen Rose needs to get trapped.
So that's with that decision made, I decided to spend the week, the moment I told Jackie, she looked at me with a look that said, when either I or the doctor decide to stay, it means something is going on. Not that I can deny it since I became a Time Lord again, trouble seems to find me, maybe it's a Timelord thing or just something that the Doctor and I have in common.
I spend the next week investigating stuff that has changed since I was last here, aside from the ghost, no matter how tempting it is for me to do so, the only way into Torchwood would be through the Doctor, so it best to wait, although I cannot help but wonder if Torchwood has me in their database or not since jack currently should not be a part of it yet I think.
It gets confusing using knowledge from the shows since with time travel involved, dates of things can change or not appear for ages, yet they already happened for certain individuals involved, while we have to wait to see it in the show.
I did spend time inside my TARDIS, coming up with ways to fix the unreliability, as having it unreliable like this is probably going to bite me, accelerating its growth was good in the short term, but long term not so much, there is a way to rectify it, unfortunately, it won't fix how, the effects of the accelerated growth on the soul of the TARDIS but it would fix the issue of navigation.
That would require going to Cardiff, where the rift is, where the issue falls, where I would need to use the rift as an anchor going throughout the rift's timeline for a few days while staying on the rift. The issue arises when I end up at the time when the Doctor and Rose closed the rift.
Moving away from those thoughts, I returned to Jackie's, heading to the living room as I was about to turn on the TV, I heard the front door opening, "Mum, we're back" I stood up heading to the hallway, as I do " Mechanic" the Doctor calls my name.
I nod at him before Jackie comes out of the kitchen, walking over to her daughter before giving her a rant about her not needing a phone since she never uses it. I can only laugh at the whole interaction.
Once everyone was in the living room, Jackie started, saying she had a surprise for Rose, leading us to the kitchen. Just as Rose was about to speak, a ghost walked through eh wall. The doctor looks at me with a look of curiosity. I shrug before speaking," I am not going to get involved in an argument with Jackie".
The Doctor being the Doctor, does what he does best investigate, and I get dragged into it, not that I am complaining I am curious to see how I can for all intense and purpose fuck with the cybermen, they are technically machines despite them having human brains meaning my mechanical force should be able to influence them.
I have to say, watching the doctor try to catch a ghost is rather boring. I think he should leave it to the Ghostbusters, but it works; it's just not as entertaining to watch as one would assume catching a ghost. Once the ghost is caught, he starts to question it; however, not long later, it disappears.
While the doctor is packing up, I look at the camera that Torchwood should be in the middle of accessing, debating whether I should mess with it or let things play out. You know what, I might as well access the camera with my mechanical force from a distance, making the camera move slowly towards us, just as it was about to face us, the Doctor called for me.
Disconnecting from the camera, I walk into my TARDIS, which is being pulled by the TARDIS to allow it to follow it. Once inside, I use the console screen to communicate with the Doctor," Drop me off first, it will be better to investigate separately, in case one of us has a run-in with some trouble.
Agreeing, the Doctor makes us appear in an office that looks unused. Once he disconnects from my TARDIS, he dematerialises again, most likely going to the same place he did in the episode, which means he is likely to get caught again.
That gives me an idea if I can infiltrate the sphere room, I may be able to disable the Daleks, preventing them from activating the Genesis Ark, thanks to Mickie accidentally falling into it. Unfortunately, I may not be able to stop their emergency temporal shift, and I am not sure if they will take the ark with them if they do, so they either try to make a change and risk taking the ark back in time or let things play out while I cause minor inconvenience for both sides.
As for saving the lives of the Torchwood staff not going to happen, not a chance, as the current Torchwood needs to be destroyed so Jack can fix it, as well as make it better.
I exit my TARDIS, moving towards the door, and locking it. I head to the computer desk, sitting in the seat, ready to use the computer to access the Torchwood mainframe. Just because I am letting this play out does not mean I am not going to make it difficult for them, thanks to my mechanical force, doing so will be a breeze.
I can start by finding Mickie, I use my mechanical force to bypass, the password protection and find the cameras for the sphere room, and the first thing I see is the scientist sitting on the raised platform with a smug look, staring at the sphere, probably just been told that the doctor is here and its gloating that they will soon know what the sphere is.
Not long later I spot the door to the room open as I see the doctor and Jackie walks in with the head of Torchwood, right I forgot she was with us, heck am I picking up the habits of the Doctor, I had to live close to Jackie for god knows how long yet even I forgot she was onboard during the Doctor's imitation of ghostbusters.
That means that Rose is going to sneak into the sphere room later, another reason to keep that feed on, to make sure nothing goes wrong. Speaking of which, it is time to test my theory that I might be able to change certain events. I am not going to save Rose, but what I am going to do is send one of my spiders through that has some modifications, one being that it will be able to detect breaches in the world, the downside is I had to make a sort of battery that could store mechanical force, as long as this batterie is charge it would create a sort of field that surround the holder, which leads to my second theory whether or not the void effects my mechanical force.
If not, then the device would allow Rose to travel back to this world, how will I know well when she is pulled into Pete's world when he saves her then they will cross the void for a millisecond? The spider will do the test in that millisecond before sending the results to me just before the breach closes.
