Wei Yuan took Li Chengfeng to see a few medical camps, and they were all similar. Two out of every three injured soldiers were unwilling to return to Zhao Country.
After observing, Li Chengfeng gave a bitter smile and said to Wei Yuan, "Mr. Wei, you are being unfair. You feed your wounded better than our generals eat. How can they not defect? If I didn't have a wife and children, I wouldn't leave either."
Wei Yuan replied, "They are only eating slightly better than ordinary people, which helps with recovery. I haven't given them any special meals; this is how our soldiers usually eat."
Seeing Li Chengfeng did not believe him at all, Wei Yuan did not explain further.
