-3rd POV-
'What was that?!' The same question kept repeating in Yanqing's mind.
He simply couldn't comprehend what Meliodas had done.
He was literally RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM!
In every way conceivable, dodging his attack should have been impossible!!!
Even IF Meliodas had cut him first, Yanqing should have still been able to get a good punch in.
Even IF Meliodas was faster, Yanqing was confident that he would use that speed to move out of the way. It was the only logical move in this battle.
Even with Meliodas's Primal Divinity, Yanqing was sure that his divinity was completely unrelated to the move he had just pulled off.
It was a move of raw talent, accuracy, and skill.
As Yanqing looked at Meliodas in utter confusion, Meliodas inactivated his Semi-Prime and retracted his sword from Yanqing's neck.
"What was that?" Yanqing finally asked. He didn't care if Meliodas wanted to keep the skill a secret or not. His curiosity was killing him.
Meliodas raised an eyebrow. "It's a skill I call [Rift Slip], and as to how I did it... not telling ya~" Meliodas said with a grin.
He could tell how much Yanqing's curiosity was killing him. And Meliodas thought that not letting him know was good punishment for the sneak attack Yanqing tried to pull off at the start of their duel.
"H-hey! Come on! Were fellow disciples, no? Help your senior brother out," Yanqing tried to pull THAT card.
"Senior disciple my crusty ass cheeks! I beat your ass. I should be the Senior disciple!" Meliodas declared with a grin.
"Ha?! But I was Wukong's disciple first! It's about seniority, not strength!" Yanqing retorted.
Both of their heads clashed as they argued.
"Boy..." Wukong suddenly called Meliodas.
They both stopped arguing and looked at Wukong.
"Punch me," Wukong suddenly instructed, sticking out his chin.
"What?" Meliodas asked in confusion.
"You heard me, boy, give me a good one right here," Wukong said, tapping his lower chin.
Meliodas hesitated for a bit, still confused as to why Wukong would want him to punch him. But in the end, he nodded as he pulled his fist back, sending a punch at Wukong's face.
As Meliodas's fist made contact, his eyes widened in sheer horror and admiration as he saw how his fist sank into Wukong's face and slipped through it.
'This monster...!' Meliodas thought.
Wukong had just learned his [Rift Slip] by only seeing it once!
"Hmmm, nifty trick," He muttered as he massaged his chin.
'I managed, but it's hard to put yourself together after the hit,' Wukong thought as he touched his chin. He could feel the unevenness of his chin that wasn't there before—probably the aftereffects of not putting himself back correctly.
Well, it wasn't noticeable at all, anyway.
Both Wukong and Yanqing looked at him, both their mouths wide open.
Wukong looked at both of them in amusement, "hahaha! You two should close your mouths, otherwise a fly might go in and make its home there!"
Wukong's words snapped Meliodas and Yanqing out of their trance, and they both closed their mouths.
"Since you taught me such a nifty trick, food is on Yanqing today!" Wukong declared.
"What?! Why do I have to pay?" Yanqing shouted.
"Heh? Because you're Meliodas's "Senior", no? Plus, I said so, brat!" Wukong smacked Yanqing on the back of the head as he strutted to the nearest restaurant.
Yanqing grumbled, cursing his master in the back of his mind.
Meliodas pated Yanqing on his back, looking at him with eyes full of pity.
"Don't worry, your wallet will never be forgotten," Meliodas said as a small tear of pity ran down his cheek.
"Ah..." Yanqing had just remembered that Wukong's appetite was rather...large.
By tomorrow, he might not even have a single coin left to spend.
"NOOOOOO!!!!" Yanqing shouted as he lamented his wallet's impending doom.
