Chapter 44 - Wine cellar

" I don't care if you're going to accept this but I'm doing this for your interest."

Avery raised her brows with her arms crossed. She scoffed while rolling her eyes

"For my interest. Alex, you freaking used my mother to sign those marriage papers. And you're telling me this?"

Alex brushed his hand through his hair frustrated. He can't tell her the truth now. Everything he'd say will sound like another lie to her.

" I have conditions for this marriage. " Avery exclaimed

Alex snapped, he swallowed the lump in his throat.

" You have conditions?"

" Yes. Can't I have conditions in this fake marriage?"

"It's not fake, Avery."

Alex shot her with bloodshot eyes. His jaw tightened, and he clenched his hands into fists.

"It's not fake," he muttered.

He took a deep breath calming his emotions. This wasn't how he wanted to solve the issue.

" Lemme hear them, I will tell my lawyer to draft it down as evidence."

Avery was flabbergasted. Was he serious?

She nodded at him.

" I decide the divorce."

"NEVER!" Alex growled.

" Try me, Alexander Gibson. And you'll regret it."

"I'm ready to regret Avery. I have already regretted some past things and what happened?"

He moved closer to her, wanting to hold her delicate fingers. But Avery moved back.

Alex brushed his hand on his face harshly. His gaze softened but Avery could see something she couldn't pinpoint.

She wrapped her hands around herself. How did this day turn into something chaotic?

" You are mine, Avery. Mine to be with, mine to worship and mine to love. You are not leaving me again. Not now not ever."

"You are sick for thinking that, Alex"

Alex let out a maniacal laugh; he looked at Avery.

" I will show you the version of my madness, Avery Gibson."

He walked past her, and he headed to the cellar which was behind the huge wooden door, leading to the outside.

He opened the cellar, took one of his favourite wines.

He unscrewed it and drank half of the bottle. He was no different from an insane person. With his tousled hair and wrinkled clothes and hair sticking out on his forehead.

Avery flinched when Alex smashed the bottle on the wall.

" W-what" Aver stopped midway.

Alex lifted the smashed bottle, high enough, not far from his stomach. But the right angle could inflict pain on him.

" This is how insane I am for you, Avery," he said before stabbing the bottle into his stomach.

He clenched his jaw tightly, with sweat pooling on his forehead- his shirt was revealing the crimson blood.

He groaned with his teeth against each other. With slower movements, he pulled the bottle from his stomach before aiming for it again.
