The Little Fairy Doctor was momentarily stunned, her face flushing with an awkward shade of red. She hesitantly asked, "You already know?"
"Mm."
Mu Chen nodded. Ever since he held the Little Fairy Doctor on the cliff, he had noticed her subtle movements. Currently, Mu Chen's soul realm had reached level 204. According to the Battle Qi Plane's ranking system, a soul power of level 100 was considered the Emperor Soul Realm. In other words, Mu Chen could now instantly kill any warrior with an Emperor Soul Realm.
With Mu Chen's current terrifying soul realm, his perception had reached an incredibly high level. Naturally, the Little Fairy Doctor's subtle actions couldn't escape his sharp eyes.
The Little Fairy Doctor sheepishly put away the handful of poison she had been clutching. She then took out an iron shovel and was about to approach the flower bed when Mu Chen stopped her.
"What's wrong?" the Little Fairy Doctor asked, puzzled.
"Is this how you usually gather herbs?" Mu Chen inquired.
"Otherwise?" The Little Fairy Doctor looked at him even more curiously.
"Doing it this way can easily damage the herbs and reduce their medicinal properties. To harvest herbs, you should use high-quality jade tools, such as shovels or knives," Mu Chen instructed.
"Where am I supposed to get jade tools at a time like this?" the Little Fairy Doctor pouted.
"Never mind, I'll go all the way to help you," Mu Chen smiled slightly, and with a thought, he took out ten exquisite jade bottles that radiated a flowing light. With a flip of his right hand, a cluster of black and white flames appeared in his palm.
Under the Little Fairy Doctor's pained gaze, Mu Chen threw the ten jade bottles into the black and white flames. As the Yin-Yang Dual Flames burned, impurities were refined out, and a purple mist emerged.
The Little Fairy Doctor gasped. The jade bottles Mu Chen had taken out were of immense value, each worth ten thousand gold coins. Ten bottles amounted to a hundred thousand gold coins, a substantial fortune for the Little Fairy Doctor. Yet, Mu Chen didn't even blink.
The ten exquisite jade bottles were refined, forming a clear, shimmering liquid. Under the Little Fairy Doctor's astonished gaze, three objects took shape: a shovel about twenty to thirty centimeters long, a pair of scissors twenty centimeters long, and a dagger eighteen centimeters long.
Mu Chen put away the dagger and approached the Little Fairy Doctor, reaching out towards her face.
Noticing his movement, the Little Fairy Doctor furrowed her brows and instinctively stepped back, evading his hand.
"Don't move," Mu Chen commanded.
Hesitant, the Little Fairy Doctor stopped retreating, her heart pounding.
Just as she thought Mu Chen was about to take advantage of her again, he plucked a long strand of hair from the sides of her head.
"You..."
The Little Fairy Doctor winced in pain, touching her head and glaring at Mu Chen with a mix of anger and confusion.
Ignoring her, Mu Chen held the dagger in one hand and the strand of her hair in the other. With a gentle blow, the hair floated and, upon touching the blade, split into two.
"Blowing hair cuts it."
The Little Fairy Doctor was shocked. She had just witnessed the legendary blade that could cut hair with a mere breath, something old mercenaries often dreamed of.
"These three items, apart from the shovel, the scissors and dagger are incredibly sharp. They don't have any runes, aren't sealed with the souls of magical beasts, nor tempered with blood or souls—they're just lifeless objects," Mu Chen explained matter-of-factly.
Lifeless objects?
The Little Fairy Doctor was startled. Such sharp blades that could cut hair with a breath would undoubtedly cause a storm if warriors knew of them. From Mu Chen's tone, it seemed he wasn't even satisfied with such weapons.
Of course, the Little Fairy Doctor didn't know that Mu Chen possessed the Taihuang Sword, a super divine weapon that struck fear into the hearts of powerful beings from the Primal Plane. With the Taihuang Sword and a soul realm of level 204, Mu Chen naturally wouldn't be impressed by such items.
The Little Fairy Doctor secretly marveled. Only someone as extraordinary as Mu Chen could speak such extraordinary words.
"However, these are quite suitable for harvesting herbs. If you don't mind, I'll give them to you. Come to think of it, I haven't given you any gifts since we met," Mu Chen said, waving his hand. The exquisite jade shovel, scissors, and dagger floated towards the Little Fairy Doctor.
"Thank you," the Little Fairy Doctor said excitedly, carefully storing the three treasures. What Mu Chen considered trash was a priceless treasure to her.
"Thanks? Just a verbal thank you?" Mu Chen's lips curled into a mischievous smile as he looked at her teasingly.
"What do you want?" the Little Fairy Doctor asked.
"Something more substantial," Mu Chen replied.
"Substantial?" The Little Fairy Doctor was even more confused.
"Mm. How about a kiss?" Mu Chen leaned in, his face close to hers, teasing her. He even pointed at his cheek.
"You..." The Little Fairy Doctor glared at him in annoyance.
"Too shy? Never mind, if you won't kiss me, how about a hug? That's acceptable, right?" Mu Chen continued to tease her, grinning mischievously.
"Do you have to tease me? Will you die if you don't?" The Little Fairy Doctor rolled her eyes at him, realizing he was just joking. She decided to ignore him and walked over to the flower bed, using the jade shovel Mu Chen had given her to start digging up the rare herbs.
The Little Fairy Doctor loved herbs. Obtaining a single rare herb would thrill her immensely. Now, she had more than just one.
As for Mu Chen, he walked over to the skeleton. Looking at it, he felt a surge of emotions.
Familiar with many things here, Mu Chen knew that the owner of this skeleton had once been a great figure, at least in the northwest region of the Battle Qi Continent. Yet, even such a great figure had fallen to this state. What, then, was the purpose of cultivation?
Lost in thought, Mu Chen began to feel confused. Sometimes, he didn't even know what his true mission was.
Perhaps Mu Chen had become a bit sentimental lately. He might not have realized it, but since he attained enlightenment through the Enlightenment Futon, his mental state had become highly sensitive. He had started to develop unique emotions towards everything around him.
"Why are you standing here so still?"
The Little Fairy Doctor's voice pulled Mu Chen out of his thoughts. He turned to her and smiled, "Since we're friends, if we're going to split anything here, it should be done in front of you."
The Little Fairy Doctor didn't respond, her eyes fixed on Mu Chen. A warm feeling flowed through her heart. She realized that being with Mu Chen made her feel happy and comfortable.
Friends?
The Little Fairy Doctor murmured to herself. Maybe this is what having a friend feels like.
