As the scenes around him began to vanish, Chen Ke's vision also blurred. He closed his eyes, and upon reopening them, he found himself squatting on the wooden floor.
He gasped for breath, looking around warily, and noticed that Baron Mox, who had changed clothes, was staring at the bed in surprise, while Maria had just sheathed her saber.
Chen Ke supported himself on the bed and stood up, only to see that Lady Katherine, lying on the bed, had her abdomen blown open, her blood and guts splattered across the sheets.
"Fuck... dead?" Chen Ke looked at Maria with an incredulous expression akin to a dumbfounded husky.
Maria sighed softly, and Baron Mox was a mixture of grief and rage.
"You... what have you done? Did you kill my wife?" Mox walked over and grabbed the collar of Chen Ke's clothing.
