Chapter 118 - Intergalactic Visitors

It's been a year since the battle between the red-coloured Dragon and the giant black viper. The city was trying its best to restore all the damaged structures but it was taking a lot of time and resources.

A lot of the previous structures had been rebuilt, draining the allocated federal funding for the city. In order not to fully drain the funds, the government decided to seek the aid of the private agencies.

Several capitalists took the chance to invest in the restorations, setting themselves up for a future filled with returns. Of course, the Griffins were no different. They purchased a large portion of the destroyed part of the city and built several apartment complexes and other businesses on it.

Feeling a bit guilty over the destruction and the displacement of several citizens. He set up a policy that reduced their rent to the bare minimum so as to not strain them financially as they sought to rebuild their lives. They were even awarded by the city for this humanitarian policy, granting the conglomerate more fame and prestige.

.....

Sitting in his office, Samuel sighed as he was quite bored. He had been working hard, putting in place several policies to bring about more humanitarian duties for the conglomerate. The piles of documents before him only kept increasing even after all the work he had done.

It had been close to seven months since Catherina graduated college and left on a trip around the world for humanitarian duties in the name of the Griffin Conglomerate.

Officially, she was charged with visiting and providing aid to poor countries all over the world, but secretly, she was investigating any case of note that were beyond the police and other security agencies.

She had Helen as part of her team and the two were really enjoying their worldwide trip. As one of the only other human beings who knew of their secrets, Helen got a little of the Delgato treatment. She was trained a little by Dr. Michelson in order to be able to keep up with her best friend in every situation especially when shit hit the fan.

Although they had been communicating occasionally, Samuel still missed her.

Tired of all the paperwork, he decided to take a break. He stood from his seat behind his desk and walked over to the large couch in his office meant for visitors and threw himself onto it to rest.

Right as he started getting comfortable on the soft couch, he received a call from Dr. Michelson on his watch. He groaned as he brought his watch to his face and answered the call; a projection screen popping out.

Dr. Michelson, after connecting with Samuel and seeing his appearance could not help but snicker teasingly. "I see the life of a successful businessman is too much even for a powerful dragon", he said.

"Don't mock me…I'm just drained from all the paperwork", Samuel answered as he forced himself to sit upright.

"So…what do you need?" he asked the doctor. "Right…Lisia just picked up a signal moving through our galaxy. I need you to come to the lab right away", Emmanuel requested.

"Very well! I need to stretch my wings after all. I'll be there in a few minutes", Samuel said as he ended the call and rose to his feet. He walked to his desk and pressed a button on the telephone, "Sarah…I'm going out for a little while. I may not return today so please cancel all my meetings for the rest of the day", he requested of his secretary.

"Yes Sir…Mr. Griffin. It shall be done. Please enjoy the rest of your day", his secretary replied over the phone.

He then walked towards his private elevator and pushed the bottom for the roof. A few seconds later, he stood on the edge of the roof of his conglomerate's skyscraper; looking down. He took a deep breath before allowing himself to plunge towards the ground.

He transformed into his Prime Emergence form, caught the wind in his wings and shot back into the sky.

...…...

After a few minutes of flying at full speed, Samuel arrived at the laboratory in the mountains. He flew to the open terrace ad entered the mountain, taking the elevator down to the surveillance room.

"I'm here!" he said as he took one of the seats around the table. "Welcome…let's get to it then. Take a look at this…it seems we have visitors", Emmanuel said as he activated the screens.

The screens showed the image of a space craft speed past the moon and approach the Earth at unparalleled speed. "Lisia…please analyze the ship and calculate its contact point', Emmanuel requested.

"ACKNOWLEDGED…SCANNING NOW…!!" Lisia announced.

"NOTICE! THE VESSEL IS IDENTIFIED AS A CLASS B ESCAPE CAPSULE. IT IS CURRENTLY DAMAGED AND OUT OF CONTROL. I ESTIMATE THAT IT WOULD CRASH INTO A LAKE SEVEN MILES DUE NORTH IN THE NEXT FIVE MINUTES!" Lisia announced.

"That soon…we need to go and check it out!" Samuel shouted in alarm as they both rushed out of the room, taking the elevator back up to the terrace. The doctor quickly called for his hovercar as Samuel took the lead towards the estimated crash point.

As they travelled the seven-mile distance, they looked towards the sky to see a flaming ball tearing through the clouds and plummeting down towards the ground.

The duo arrived just as the burning capsule crashed into the small lake; emptying it and creating a larger crater out of it.

Samuel dove downwards, quickly flying towards the still burning capsule. He shot a plume of ice out of his mouth as he flew over it, extinguishing the flames instantly.

Once the flames died, the battered capsule was fully exposed, looking like it could fall apart at any moment.

After a few minutes of waiting, a clanky sound was heard as the hatch on the side of the capsule was unlocked. A loud sound of decompression was released as the hatch was pushed open, revealing four figures of similar characteristics.

There were three males and a single female. This was easy to identify as they had a similar anatomic structure to that of a human; the only differences being a few external characteristics like their sharp pointed ears, gem-like stone in the middle of their foreheads, and of course…their double pairs of eyes.

They raised their heads to Samuel as he flew closer and hovered before them; exuding an aura of dominance. "Are you friends or foe?" he asked, releasing a bit of his murderous intent on the last part.

The tallest of the four stepped forward and walked past the hatch. He did not fall the five- meter distance to the ground but he floated in midair, surprising the duo. He exuded the aura of a leader and addressed Samuel directly. "We are friends! We come bearing dire tidings", he said, alarming Samuel and Dr. Michelson.
