Chapter 80 - Victory Spoils

AN: Stat/Skill chapter! The full stat page is near the end if you don't like the stat/skill stuff

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Good work," I hummed, reaching up and wiping a trail of blood off my mouth as Katerea blushed at my words.

A few minutes ago, there had been various corpses - or, more specifically, partial corpses, as they were largely just bits of flesh and limbs. Now, they were in my stomach.

As a result, I had a lot, and I mean a lot, of new skills. I had already gained them from my quests before, but using [Devour] on the remains of those killed in the stadium was a nice boost in XP and stats.

As for the skills, some of them were good, some were decent, and some were terrible, but good or bad, my arsenal had practically doubled.

Though, despite there being a lot, I had actually expected a lot more. When I had claimed my quests after conquering the Meadow of Love, thus getting all the skills related to each species, I had gotten anywhere from 7 to 10 skills for each species.

By comparison, the specific clan skills were usually only two, with a couple giving three. It made some sense since I was just taking the clan-specific skills, and not skills for an entire species, but I was a tad bit disappointed.

The first completed quest I claimed had come from the Bael clan - with the first skill being the [Power of Destruction] that I already got from Zekram, and then two more related skills.

[Aura of Destruction] - Radiate an aura around you. Anything that comes into contact with the aura will be turned into nothingness.

[Barrier of Destruction] - Create a barrier. Anything inside the barrier will be turned into nothingness.

Both of them looked pretty powerful at first glance, but the descriptions were being generous with the 'turned into nothingness' parts. After a little testing, I found out the effect only worked if the object or person being affected was weak enough to actually be turned into nothingness.

It was in the same vein that my sword didn't instantly crumble under Sirzechs' Power of Destruction - while it should've been disintegrated from just a touch, the sword had too many enchants and was overall too high in quality from being made by Vargan.

After the Bael came the Agares skills, which somehow managed to be even more appealing than the Power of Destruction.

[Minor Time Control] - Control minor portions of Time.

[Minor Time-State Reversal] - Control minor portions of the Time-State of something.

On paper, being able to control time was overpowered as hell. In reality, it was still good, but not as broken as I first envisioned.

Through a bit of testing over the past day, I found out that [Minor Time Control] was indeed very minor. I could essentially speed up or slow down time for a couple of seconds, even with the skill being at level 25 from the quest rewards, in a small space.

The MP cost to do so was also pretty draining, so I couldn't just spam the skill carelessly. I still wouldn't complain about having control over time, even if it was just a small amount of control, but it wasn't game-changing or anything.

[Minor Time-State Reversal] was even more disappointing - at least compared to what the name suggested, as the skill was still pretty damn good - as it allowed me to reverse the time state of a person or object by a few seconds.

It would be good if I didn't already have two HP-regenerating skills, as I could reverse time right after taking an attack to completely negate it, but at the moment it overlapped poorly with [Physical Regeneration] and [Phenex Immortality].

I could still use it to heal others and potentially save someone's life if I were quick enough, but it wasn't as game-breaking as I first imagined when I saw the name.

After Agares came the Vassago Clan, who had been wiped out in the stadium attack - something I was very glad about. They hadn't been mentioned much at all in the series, and I didn't know just how scary their clan's bloodline ability was.

[Eye of Vassago] - Enhance your eyes, allowing you to see through all illusions, mental tricks, and magic.

This skill was all around useful, as being able to see through illusions would be nice, but it was the next one that really got me excited.

[Clairvoyant Vision] - Look into the future.

Now, at first glance, that seemed broken as hell. If I could see the future, then I'd know exactly what any opponent I ever had was planning, and then I could just plan around it. Unfortunately, it was a bit limited like the Agares' skills.

If the skill could actually see far into the future, then the Vassago head would've known the stadium was about to explode and gotten the hell out of there. Instead, it was just 0.25 seconds - yes, 0.25 seconds at level 25.

That limited its uses a fair bit, but it was still good. I could use it mid-fight to outmaneuver an opponent, as anyone who was giving me a genuine fight would be fast enough that they could do a lot in a fraction of a second.

Next came the Gamigin clan, who also had some pretty nice skills for a group that was barely mentioned in the series.

[Life Draining Blow] - Steal HP from your opponent, healing yourself in the process.

[Spirit Manipulation] - Manipulate Spirits.

[Spirit Communication] - Communicate with Spirits.

The first skill was nice, but I already had a sword that did that on a much larger scale - a sword that was broken at the moment, but I had asked Vargan to apply the same [Morph] enchantment that allowed [Devour] to create the stat-draining skill on my new sword.

The next two were a bit… interesting?

Aside from Tiffana's rather-insane rambles about spirits, I didn't know anything about them. I didn't know if there was any use in talking to or manipulating them, but I guess I'd find out soon.

Looking through all the skills I got from the 32 clans had taken a while, but luckily - or I guess unluckily overall - there were a lot of pretty bland ones that I could just skim over.

The Amon clan had given [Flames of Discord] - just another long-range flame attack that was more effective if I was angry - and [Guilt Trip] - a skill that essentially just made someone think about things they were guilty about.

The Barbatos clan had given [Beast Talk] - a useless skill that allowed me to communicate with all beasts, since I already had two skills that let me do that - and [Floral Control] - a skill that allowed me to manipulate small amounts of natural things, such as vines, trees, grass, etc.

The Paimon clan was where two more interesting skills appeared, though only one of them was actually useful.

[Sovereign Command] - Utilize the command of a Sovereign, raising the [Obedience] of any creature nearby by 2x.

[Minor Arcane Authority] - Instantly negate any magic-based abilities or attacks that are too far below your current power.

The first would've been nice if I didn't have [King's Command], but it was essentially just a worse version. [Minor Arcane Authority] was actually useful, as it essentially meant that no weak attacks could reach me.

Anything that weak probably wouldn't bother me anyway, but it was still nice to have, and would keep away annoying small attacks.

Next was the Sitri clan, which just gave me [Water Creation], [Water Beam], and [Water Manipulation].

The first two were pretty self-explanatory, but [Water Manipulation] had peaked my interest. My first thought had gone to manipulating the water in someone's body, thus controlling their movements and making it difficult for them to fight, but it wasn't that easy.

Through testing, I could do it pretty well against someone far weaker than me, but anyone decently strong could overpower it.

I could completely manipulate a four-legged dire wolf, and I could make Vargan's limbs twitch a bit, which could be useful in a fight, but against Tiamat, the Dragon King didn't even notice I was trying to control her body.

Next was Beleth, which gave me the decent [Aura of Terror] - which caused anyone weak enough around me to feel terror and start having hallucinations - and [Battlefield King] - which boosted my STR, AGI, and END when I was commanding an army.

After that was the Zepar clan, which gave [Desireable Aura] - which just made those near me feel varying levels of attraction to me depending on how strong they were, and largely overlapped with [Alluring Aura] - and [Comforting Aura] - which made those near me feel more at ease.

Then was one of the most disappointing clans in Sallos, which just gave me [Minor Water Body Control] - which just let me manipulate the water in a body of water, which overlapped poorly with the Sitri skills. That was it - just one skill, and it wasn't even decent.

As if that was bad enough, I had gotten nothing from the Purson clan - as instead I'd gotten XP for [Lie Detection] and [Spirit Communication]. It seemed I would've gotten those two same exact skills from the quest, but I already had them.

Next was Naberius, which was a bit better with [Silver Tongue] - which increased my odds of persuading someone - and [Commanding Tone] - which increased the odds of someone following my command.

After that was Glasya-Labos, which gave [Bloodhound Sense] - which was just another tracking skill to add to my growing arsenal - and [Blood Pact] - which was essentially [Contract Making] but with blood as a medium instead of magic.

Then came another interesting set of skills from the Berith clan:

[Transmutation Mastery] - Change something into something else.

[Alchemy Mastery] - Combine, change, or negate effects, substances, and objects.

I didn't have any experience with either of the two concepts, but I was sure I'd be able to find some use for them. I had initially thought I would never utilize [Runecraft], but then it ended up playing a big role in my plan with the duel.

I didn't have a plan with the two new skills yet, but just having access to them was a big boon.

The next couple I had speed-run glanced through, as the names were pretty self-explanatory, and the skills weren't anything crazy.

[Oceanic Command] and [Demonic Wave] came from Forneus, [Flames of Wrath] and [Confusion Barrier] from Asmoday, [Demonic Lightning] and [Lightning Beam] from Furfur, and finally [Grimoire Mastery] and [Starborn Eyes] - which allowed me to see ones Demonic Power or Magical Power around them like an aura - from the Stolas clan.

After those came the more familiar Phenex Clan, which gave XP for [Phenex Immortality] along with [Fire Manipulation] and [Wind Manipulation].

The next ones after those were also pretty bland, with [Lying Mastery] coming from the Shax clan, [Holy Power Resistance] and [Ancient Language Mastery] coming from Uvall, [Revealing Flames] - which burnt away disguise magic - [Horse Riding Mastery] and [Horse Taming Mastery] coming from the Furcas clan, and [STR Boost] XP coming from the Balam clan.

Then came the Gremory Clan, which were actually kind of disappointing with [Demonic Power Mastery] and [MP Boost]. Both were good, but for a clan that Sirzechs Lucifer came from, I had expected a bit more.

Though considering his Power of Destruction was his main ability, which was inherited from the Bael clan, I guess I shouldn't have expected a lot.

At this point in accepting the quests, my brain was starting to hurt from going through so many skills, but luckily, only five clans remained - and they were all quick reads.

The Oriax clan gave [Morale Boost] and [Moral Decrease], Vapula gave just [Lion Tamer Mastery], then [Telepathic Communication] - which was actually pretty useful - and [Serpant Command] came from the Valac clan, [Distorting Illusion] from the Andrealphus clan, [Worthless] XP from Belial, and finally [Face Disguise] and [Emotion Bond] from Dantalion.

That left the final three skill-giving rewards from the Old Satan Faction quest, with the first being from the Leviathan clan.

[Sea Serpent of the End] - Control the Sea.

Despite only getting one skill, it was a damn good one. The description didn't convey much, but the original Leviathan's daughter had used this skill to flood an entire city with it - essentially creating a real-life Atlantis.

It was like the Sitri skills on steroids, so I wasn't complaining even if it was only one skill.

The next skill was also only one from the Asmodeus clan, as I had already gotten [Starsend Moment] and [Enhanced Flight] from Creuserey.

[Lust Control] - Control Lust.

The description for this one was even less descriptive than the Leviathan one, but it essentially allowed me to control lust within both myself and others. Not overly useful, but I had already gotten two other good skills from the clan, so I wasn't pissed.

Finally came the Beelzebub skills.

[Fly Control] - Control the will of flies.

[Fly Summon] - Summon flies.

[Fly Creation] - Create flies.

The theme of the skills not explaining much continued, but through a bit of testing, they were all pretty simple.

I could control 'flies' - which seemed to mean any flying insects - summon a bunch of them, or 'create' them - which wasn't the same as summoning, as I could create amalgamations of flies from my imagination even if they didn't already exist.

All three skills were pretty decent, but I'd have to test with them a bit more before I was confident in betting on them in a fight.

Finally, after all those skills, the stat gains from the quests, and from my training leading up to the duel with Sirzechs, my stat sheet had changed a lot.

The majority came from the Pillar quests, as the collective 32 rewards had given me 320,000 stat points to each stat - which was more than half of most of them - and a shit-ton of skills.

Whether I had to take on the Greek Gods next or venture to other worlds, I felt pretty confident now.

I had become much stronger after taking down Sirzechs, and I doubted anyone less than someone like Ophis, or perhaps one of the gods like Indra, could pose a threat to me in this world.

No matter what was to come next, I would be ready.

"I-If I did a good job, then…" I glanced up, pulled away from my thoughts as Katerea was still standing in front of me with a beet-red face, "C-Could I have a reward, Your Highness?"

A reward? Well, I suppose it is good to reward your subordinates when they do good work.

I wasn't sure what she wanted, but I could probably get it no matter what it was.

"Sure," I nodded, "What do you have in mind?"

"Your babies!"

I blinked, staring blankly at the blushing, tan, and busty woman. Then, I shrugged.

My brain had been fried from reading so many stats lately anyway, so I might as well indulge in some fun, right?

I had the feeling Akeno would also be waiting in my room tonight, so I simply nodded.

"Fuck it," I said bluntly, "Come on."

"Yes!" Katerea pumped her fist as if she'd won an award instead of just me agreeing to have sex with her, "Thank you, Your Highness!"

I just chuckled as Katerea and I headed toward my bedroom, a night of pleasure and exhaustion in store for me today.
