Chapter 258 - Ice vs. Ice

The air crackled with tension as Gray Fullbuster of Fairy Tail A faced Leon Vastia of Lamia Scale. Cheers and jeers mingled in the stands—Lamia fans rooting for their champion, Fairy Tail supporters urging Gray on.

Sherry clapped. "Go, Leon!"

Toby howled, "Show him, Leon!"

Yuka rolled her eyes. "Focus on the match, Toby—your socks can wait."

Across the ring, Leon grinned. "I'll win this—for Juvia."

Gray's eyes narrowed. "So you remember our old promise?"

A hush fell. Rumor had it these two were like brothers—both disciples of the great Ulu—yet rivals for Juvia's heart.

"You never admitted defeat back then," Leon goaded. "Today I'll prove I surpassed you long ago."

Gray stiffened. "I never agreed to that wager!"

Leon's smirk deepened. "Then let's settle it now: if I win, Juvia joins Lamia Scale."

Gasps erupted. Taking a guildmate from Fairy Tail? Unthinkable.

"I didn't say that!" Gray countered, but his voice shook. Memories of Galuna Island flashed—Leon had bested him once before.

Leon raised an eyebrow. "You can deny all you like, but this is the deal you made."

Gray clenched his fists. "Fine. If you're so sure, I'll fight with everything I have!"

The bell rang.

Gray leapt forward. "Ice Make—Lancer!"

A volley of crystalline spears lanced toward Leon.

Leon met them calmly. "Ice Make—Shield!"

An icy barrier erupted, shattering Gray's javelins against its front.

Gray didn't relent. "Ice Make—Camp!"

A flurry of razor-sharp ice shards streamed at Leon's flank.

Leon spun on the heel of one boot. "Ice Make—Eagle!"

A glowing falcon of frost swooped from his palm, intercepting the shards.

"Double Cast!" Gray cried, unleashing two torrents of ice magic at once.

Leon's frost eagle burst apart to shield him, but Gray's twin beams—bearing the chill of the North Pole—cut through the gargoyle-like form and drove Leon back.

The crowd roared as two masters of ice clashed in a dazzling dance of frost and steel. Neither yielded an inch—brotherhood and rivalry frozen together in midair.

As their spells collided, a crystalline storm engulfed the arena. Only one question remained when the winds of magic finally settled: who would claim victory—and Juvia?
