Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: A Piece of Cake Su Chen had

Chapter 84: A Piece of Cake Su Chen had finally finished patching up the tire—now he and those guys were even.

There was no reason for him to hang around and chat with them any longer.

It was already around 3 a.m.

He hadn't gotten any real sleep tonight, and he knew he'd be out of it tomorrow.

But luckily, there wasn't anything important planned for the next day. He just wanted to enjoy some simple camping.

After being busy for several days, he finally deserved a break.

This was what people called the beauty of a two-day weekend—absolutely wonderful.

The man in the suit was still tending to the guy with glasses, clearly putting effort into it. He genuinely cared.

"Go check and see if that guy finished fixing the RV tire," the man in the glasses finally said.

To be honest, he had completely forgotten about Su Chen—he wouldn't have remembered if the guy with glasses hadn't brought him up again. He had almost dozed off.

Heh. Judging by how useless that guy looked, no way he fixed it. Not even worth checking.

The suited man threw on his signature jacket and strutted off the RV with an air of arrogance.

Even if he didn't have as many resources as Su Chen, he still had to save face.

You can lack anything—just not pride.

That's when he realized Su Chen wasn't anywhere near the tire.

"Where the hell is that guy? Don't tell me he didn't know how to fix it and just ran off?"

"I knew that punk would bail—couldn't even handle a basic tire patch."

But just then, he spotted Su Chen sitting by the front of the RV, taking a break.

He was holding an Uzi submachine gun, wiping it down. He had nothing better to do, so he figured he might as well clean his weapon—plus it made him feel better having it polished up.

The suited man was shocked by the sight. Sweat instantly beaded on his forehead, a clear sign of his nerves.

'Damn it. This guy actually has a submachine gun!

What do I do? What do I do?'

Panic hit him fast. He wasn't a bad person deep down, just insanely jealous—that's why he'd been so fixated on Su Chen.

Now, he stood frozen, legs shaking, goosebumps crawling up his arms.

"Oh, you're out," Su Chen said casually. "The tire's all patched up. I was going to let you guys know, but I figured you were busy, so I decided to clean my gun in the meantime."

"Didn't take long—just a few minutes. If it was gonna take forever, I wouldn't have even bothered."

Seeing that Su Chen wasn't acting hostile, the man in the suit finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He had said some unpleasant things earlier, and clearly, this guy was no amateur. Just looking at that Uzi made it clear—Su Chen wasn't someone to mess with.

Only now did the suited man glance over at the tire.

The tire had been punctured by a nail. Without new materials, it should've been impossible to patch it properly.

Even if it had been patched, there should've been clear marks or signs of damage.

But now? The tire looked brand new—not a single trace of damage.

Unreal! Su Chen really was something else—even tire repairs were next-level.

The man in the suit had no choice but to admire him. Su Chen was the real deal.

His jealousy started to fade, especially after seeing the Uzi in Su Chen's hands. His attitude flipped completely.

Out here, even getting a handgun was a rare feat. Among a hundred survivors, maybe one or two would be armed.

But this guy? He had a damn submachine gun.

He had assumed Su Chen was just lucky and not really capable.

Clearly, that wasn't the case. This guy was seriously skilled—that's why he stood out.

The suited man suddenly felt a strong urge to learn from Su Chen, hoping to pick up a few survival skills.

"Boss, how about you take me as your disciple? I can do anything you need."

Su Chen had already heard everything the man said earlier, but he hadn't planned to hurt him.

After all, when you're this outstanding, it's only natural for others to be jealous.

And to be fair, the guy hadn't done anything too over the line.

He just had a strong jealous streak—but he really did care about his companions.

A good guy, sure—but wanting to become Su Chen's disciple? Not a chance.

"Not happening, man. Just head back to bed. Everything you want is in your dreams."

Su Chen rejected him flat-out, without giving him even a sliver of hope.

After all, the bigger the hope, the harder the disappointment.

The man in the suit ran a business—he knew better than to push people.

Sometimes, if someone wants to leave, you can't force them to stay.

Trying to keep someone against their will only ends up hurting both sides.

Su Chen had only come here to fix the tire. He wasn't interested in anything else.

He wouldn't even be here if he hadn't made a mistake—who'd willingly come out to this godforsaken place in the middle of the night?

Fixing the tire was already a big favor. And now you're asking to become my disciple?

No way. I wouldn't even want to be your dad, let alone your master.

All I want is to sit in my RV and relax, nothing more.

"If there's nothing else, I'm heading back. I'm tired."

Since Su Chen said so, the man in the suit couldn't find a reason to make him stay.

Even if he tried, could he stop him?

This guy had both a handgun and a submachine gun. If he wanted, he could just shoot and be done with it.

There was nothing he could do now except treat Su Chen nicely—and if Su Chen didn't want to stay, that was that.

"Alright then. Get some rest."

With that, he retreated awkwardly back to his RV.

Inside, the guy with glasses was still waiting.

"How'd it go? Is the tire fixed?" he asked urgently, clearly concerned about the situation outside.

"Of course. Under my command, he finally got it done."

"This kind of minor task is a piece of cake for me—I didn't even need to step in myself."

Still the same old show-off.

The guy with glasses knew him too well by now.

But he didn't say anything. The man might like to brag a bit, but he wasn't a bad person overall.

Meanwhile, the man in the suit was already grumbling in his heart.

'Tch. That so-called "boss" is nothing. I could've handled that myself—didn't need his help.

Just wait. Before long, I'll make him regret it!'

Su Chen was now walking back to his RV alone.

Funny—he'd come here with them, but now he was heading back solo.

But that was actually a good thing. If they offered to walk him back, they'd probably want to crash in his RV tonight.

Three grown men sharing a room? No thanks. That just sounded… weird.

Suddenly—

"Achoo! Achoo!"

Huh? Was someone talking bad about him behind his back?
