As Anna stood there, disappointment washed over her like a chilling wave. She had lost the siren, and fear flickered in the eyes of Emo's parents as they rushed towards her, their faces etched with panic.
When they caught sight of Anna, holding nothing but a torn piece of cloth, their jaws dropped in disbelief. Emo's father stepped forward, his voice sharp as a blade.
"Where is she? Where is my daughter?"
His words struck Anna like an arrow. With a solemn expression, she replied,
"That wasn't your daughter, sir."
She extended the piece of cloth towards him, with a heavy heart.
"That was a siren, not Ema."
The young father took the fabric, staring at her as disbelief morphed into something darker. A frown etched itself on his face, and raising his voice in anger, he snapped
"What do you mean my daughter is a siren? I saw you chasing her with your sword! What have you done to my daughter?"
