Acnologia roars loudly after seeing Fairy Tail's ship. The roar is filled with hostility and Alex knows why Acnologia becomes so agitated. It's because there are Dragon Slayers on the ship.
Because of that, Acnologia prepares a much stronger attack than before. Magic power accumulates in his mouth. Alex has seen similar attacks many times before, so he knows the spell that Acnologia prepares, a Dragon Roar.
The ones on the ship also know something bad is coming, so they prepare themselves for it. They've seen Acnologia's attack that destroyed the Council's battleship, so they know what will happen if that attack hits their ship.
Just as Alex thought, Acnologia shoots a bluish Dragon Roar at Fairy Tail's ship. Everyone on the ship gets ready to counter that attack. But suddenly, a gigantic armored creature shows up in front of their ship.
Alex transforms into full-size Isobu and stands in front of Fairy Tail's ship. 4 giant magic circles appear near his feet and each of them shoot massive water pillars. They move toward Acnologia's Dragon Roar that has gotten quite close to where Alex stands and clash with it.
The Water Pillars and Dragon Roar push each other for a while before Alex's Water Pillars are destroyed. He has expected it. After all, he made the Water Pillars in a rush, so they don't have proper power to stop Acnologia's attack.
Alex quickly grabs the ship with his tails and jumps away to dodge the incoming Dragon Roar. His body is now very big and heavy, but he can move very fast, very unsuitable for his current size and weight.
He also jumps very far, which is a good decision because when Acnologia's attack hits the sea, a very wide area of the sea is gone. The water just disappears instead of being pushed away like before.
"The fuq?!" Alex just blurts out because he's so surprised. He knows magic can cause strange phenomena, but usually physics are still present. This, however, really doesn't involve physics because it doesn't make sense how the water just disappears into nothing, not even steam.
It shows just how powerful that attack is just now which really shocks every one of them. Not even Gildarts and Alex can use magic of that caliber. Though Alex thinks it's a matter of magical property rather than power.
He thinks that Acnologia's magic is just that destructive by nature. On top of that, he is also very powerful, so his magic just becomes ridiculously strong and destructive.
Alex isn't sure the current him can receive that attack unscathed even when he transforms into Isobu. He now fully understands why even with Gildarts and Makarov, Fairy Tail couldn't do anything against Acnologia on Tenrou Island.
While there's the problem of only Dragon Slayers can really damage the Dragon, Acnologia being too strong is also a strong factor of their helpless situation. There's also a fact that they were too tired after fighting Grimoire Heart.
But Alex who has defeated Grimoire Heart without much problem and even recovered his energy by absorbing Grimoire Heart's Mages also still doesn't have the confidence to face Acnologia.
So now he can only think about how they'll survive this. He can't even think about how to defeat Acnologia and only thinks of how to survive. Even repelling Acnologia is already a luxury thought.
"Everyone gets on my shell and hangs on tight! I will move as fast as I can. We will run away from here." Alex quickly moves the ship to his back.
"WAIT, ALEX! LET ME TRY ASKING HIM ABOUT IGNEEL." Natsu shouts from the ship.
"DON'T BE STUPID, NATSU! DOES THAT DRAGON LOOKS LIKE IT CAN BE TALKED TO?" Laxus is mad at Natsu for being unreasonable.
"BUT-." Natsu is still stubborn, so Alex stops him because they don't have much time.
"STOP IT, NATSU! I know you want to know where your dad is, but you can't talk to that Dragon. If he can answer and know about Igneel, then what you'll hear is bad news. After all, if my guess is right, then that Dragon should be the Black Dragon recorded in The Book of Apocalypse. If so, then he is the Black Dragon who killed almost all Dragons, ending the era of Dragons in the past, singlehandedly."
Everyone, especially the Dragon Slayers are surprised by what Alex explains in a rush while swimming very fast to the west. He uses his tails and Water Magic to push himself forward as fast as he can.
"D-do you mean....?" Gajeel can't finish his question.
"Yeah, if he knows about your Dragon parents, then that means he has killed them. Now are you sure you want to ask him?"
Right when Alex asks, Acnologia roars angrily because they try to escape. Alex moves too fast for him to aim his attack properly. So he flies after them as fast as he can, but Alex is even faster.
"IGNEEL WON'T LOSE TO HIM." Natsu is still stubborn as usual.
"BUT YOU WILL LOSE TO HIM. DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND WHEN I SAY HE KILLED ALMOST ALL DRAGONS? HE KILLED THEM BECAUSE OF A REASON. I'LL TELL YOU MORE LATER, BUT NOW YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT HE WANTS TO KILL ALL DRAGONS. YOU GUYS ARE DRAGON SLAYERS WHO CARRY THE AURA OF DRAGONS. FOR HIM, YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN DRAGONS, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" Alex can't take it anymore and shouts angrily, which is very unusual for him, so everyone is surprised.
"That means he is trying to kill us now, or to be exact, us Dragon Slayers. No wonder his attack suddenly got much stronger than when he destroyed that battleship. It's because he sensed 4 Dragons in our group." Laxus immediately understands and explains it to them so the likes of Natsu can also understand it.
"Natsu, I've told you how I lost my left arm and leg, right? That Dragon was the one that did it. He didn't even try to talk like how you described Igneel to me. That Black Dragon just goes straight for the kill. He also just shot that battleship even though there should be no Dragon Slayers there. That means he just wants to kill anyone he sees. He's not a Dragon you can talk to. He's just a mindless Beast. You will only put yourself and your friends in danger by trying to talk to him." Gildarts speaks seriously to Natsu, making him finally give up while clenching his fists.
Gajeel and Wendy also give up. They aren't getting as agitated as Natsu, but they also really want to know where their Dragon parents were.
Alex also understands that they are just kids missing their parents, that's why he explained what he knows to them instead of just being mad.
"So, Alex, why are you moving to the west?" Makarov finally speaks.
"I surely can't return to Ishgar with that Black Dragon coming after us. So I'm thinking of taking him to Alakitasia, to Alvarez. They are a strong Military Empire that dared to even attack Ishgar, a whole Continent alone a few times in the past. So I think they should have enough power to even repel a Dragon." Alex explains his reason to Makarov.
"You..... What about the civilians there?" Makarov can't believe what Alex has just said.
"Don't worry, I heard they stationed soldiers on the sea and a Spriggan is always there. They will buy enough time until their main force can arrive to help them. Besides, if I need to choose, I'd rather save our people even at the cost of their people's lives. It's not like their people even care about our people's lives in the first place."
It might be cruel of Alex, but it's a rational decision from his point of view as someone from Ishgar. His loved ones live on Ishgar while he doesn't know anyone who lives on Alakitasia. He might feel bad for them, but he can't really be sad for people he doesn't even know.
While they talk, Alex senses that Acnologia is getting closer even though he was left behind before. It's because Acnologia also uses magic to fly even faster after being unable to chase Alex's speed while flying normally.
As he gets closer, Acnologia shoots barrages of massive magic bullets from the magic circles that appear around him. But none of them hit Alex because Alex moves very fast, so the attacks always miss him.
Everyone on Alex's back can finally understand Acnologia's ridiculous power from this rain of attacks. All of them now understand why Alex chose to run to another country instead of getting help from their people.
But Acnologia's attacks are getting closer to them and almost hitting them. So everyone on board is using their magic to counter and redirect the attacks. Thankfully, these attacks aren't as strong as the previous Dragon Roar, so they can at least redirect them with their spells.
After swimming for quite a long time, Alex finally senses many Mages in hus detection range. He is glad he goes in the correct direction because as he gets closer to them, he can finally see some ships, and on their masts are Alvarez Empire's flags.
Alex can finally make his enemies meet each other. Now he just needs to make them fight each other and find a way to slip away from this place.
