The Chaos Elementals were harbinger's of Chrunus's will.
They were his rightful punishment for those daring to rebel against the supreme god, or that was what most believed.
The chaos elementals weren't necessarily tied to the Chaos god, but could form naturally.
Of course, not many knew that, as they were mostly used by the chaos god to destroy any heresy that grew too powerful.
But for a Greater Chaos Elemental, it did not matter, he was a naturally formed Chaos Elemental who served the 12 Cardinals.
The Cardinals were capable of summoning Elementals, but none were fully sentient like he was.
In a way, he was unique.
He was living Chaos itself, not some half assed construct.
Even if Chrunus disappeared, he would remain.
However, there was no better patron than Chrunus; he, after all, was Chaos itself.
The chaos that shaped the world itself.
The order that came after was a mere construct, a farce.
Like life was destined to wither and die, so too was order destined to collapse under its own weight.
Only chaos could exist, as it was the true primordial soup from which existence came.
All things would collapse and fall back into chaos, and then, like a phoenix, would rise from the ashes; the order would build itself from the building blocks of chaos.
He, as the manifestation of Chaos, merely wished to speed up that cycle.
However, when he gazed into the beacon of light that approached him, he felt insignificant.
It was the anathema to Chaos.
What approached them was the Avatar of Order itself.
No matter how much chaos energy surrounded the woman, it was like the chaos was changed on a fundamental level.
It was the same as when he gazed onto the goddess of Order, someone who was severely weakened by Chrunus to such an extent that she couldn't even move without risking erasure.
It warmed his non-existent heart, and yet what he was in front of him was Order itself, just as the goddess was.
His form shuddered, his telepathic connection to other elementals intensified as they prepared to launch an ambush.
He would observe, and once they had been destroyed, he would report to the 12 Cardinals.
Since time immemorial, mortals had attempted to banish him or even destroy him.
However, it was not possible.
He would merely reform.
And yet Avatar was terrifying.
One wrong move and he would taste what erasure was like.
The greater chaos elementals that served him made their way around the avatar, their forms shifting as the chaotic dark mist burst out of them..
Soon after, the entire field was covered in a mist many times thicker than the one covering the city.
He saw the elementals phase through the mist, surrounding the beacon of light.
However, soon after, the beacon's hand glowed in light so bright that he felt his very essence was being erased.
Despite the distance, it hurt.
[God's Holy Light], the words reached him, but the light had already done its damage.
The mists were dispelled.
And elementals?
Gone.
He needed to run.
This was not the target.
This was a predator.
The Cardinals needed to know about her.
No matter what, he couldn't approach the beacon.
His form shrank.
He couldn't afford the Light reaching him, so he phased forward.
The dark mist disappeared behind him before he crashed right into the beacon.
The woman was radiant.
He felt his essence scream at the presence.
Alien, powerful, primordial, divine... and yet Orderly.
However, the order she represented was not familiar.
It was Order, but order more primal than even Chaos itself.
It contradicted everything he stood for.
Chaos was where all things came to be, and yet the presence he felt was even more ancient.
He ran, his swirling form dispersing in an act of desperation.
"Hello~" Aurelia appeared in front of him, his form burning away at the mere presence of the woman.
The Chaos elementals could not exist in the presence of someone who represented order.
His whole existence was heretical in the eyes of the Order.
"Tell me, did Cardinals send you?" Aurelia knelt before the elemental.
He could not escape; his form was disintegrating.
He would not reform, he would cease to be.
A primordial elemental like him would disappear.
"Soah et oejop!" The elemental spoke in an unknown language, making Aurelia cover her ears.
It sounded more like a screech than anything.
It was useless to question a spawn of Chaos.
"Ilanidark ec et es itisejr!" The elemental screeched.
Aurelia sighed.
It was useless.
[God's Holy Light], her hand glowed, and in the moment with the last screech, the elemental disappeared, forever lost, never to be reconstructed again.
Aurelia sighed as the darkness evaporated.
It was a shame.
She learned nothing.
She brought her hand to her chin, "But... I think we can use this to make the church of Chrunus a villain." She smiled, Cedric wished for a reason, and now they had it.
If she acted quickly, she and make a new decree. Condemning the church of this attack, then Christianity would get stronger, and most importantly, Cedric would praise her.
She sheated Zenith before throwing it over her back and gazing back at the city.
The darkness was quickly dispersed.
Whoever made this attack was a fool beyond fools.
They attacked without knowing anything about Aurelia or the Christian Church.
And due to their foolishness, they merely opened the door for her to hit a final nail in the new coffin.
However, the moment she locked her eyes onto the gate, she noticed something in the corner of her eyes 1 cloaked figure moving with grace through the gates.
The man wore colors of Chrunus, and so he was likely an enemy who summoned these elementals.
He would be caught and publicly executed.
This was no playing matter; the false church was becoming more and more of a thorn in her husband's side, and so she, as a good wife, would make sure to remove such a thorn whenever possible.
The Church of Chrunus was approaching its destruction with every wrong step they took.
