A group of people were busy, and once they had taken the twenty mortals down the mountain and brought enough food and clothing, night finally fell.
Lang Guan, as usual, gathered dead branches and leaves and placed the Fourth Leader's corpse on the pyre for burning.

Lang Guan murmured as he watched the Fourth Leader's body burn fiercely on the pyre. Unfortunately, the Third Leader's body was never found, perhaps taken away by the tree demon's vines.
The fire burned for most of the night, and there was an eerie wailing of roaming souls in the darkness, sounding quite haunting.
Fortunately, this was the domain of the tree demon, so those roaming souls and evil spirits did not come this way. Thus, the night passed peacefully.
That night, Master Listening Rain and the Second Leader, along with the others, did not sleep either.
