Thanks to Naoki's popularity, Iono's channel also exploded in popularity over the last two months. Every time she went live, swarms of viewers would flock into her stream.
Among them were a growing number of fans obsessed with one question: what were the final two Pokémon Naoki had yet to use?
After all this time, he still hadn't revealed them, not even once.
Whether it was a deliberate tease or a happy coincidence, it drove his fanbase wild with anticipation. Speculation flooded forums, threads, and livestream chats.
Some theorized it was because no one had ever managed to defeat Zapdos or Jirachi.
"If no one can beat those two," the theory went, "we'll never get to see what Pokémon he's saving for last."
The speculation grew so intense that a group of fans launched a crowdfunding campaign: they offered a two million Poke dollars as a reward to any trainer strong enough to force Naoki to send out his final two Pokémon.
The reward drew attention like wildfire. Trainers from across the world, some lured by money, others by fame, began converging on the Paldea region.
Naoki, however, remained completely unaware of the rising storm.
Today, as soon as work ended, he hurried straight home.
Because today was special—Mew and Teddiursa were finally returning from their latest adventure.
Early that morning, Naoki saw an update on Arceus' phone: Mew and Teddiursa had successfully resolved a critical crisis in the Maze World.
The two Pokémon had awakened that world's Rayquaza and, together, prevented a colossal meteor from destroying the planet.
Mew and Teddiursa had returned to the World Tree bearing blessings and rare items gifted by the grateful Pokémon of that world.
The moment they were back, they immediately video-called Naoki and said that they bought gifts for him
Therefore, as soon as it was time to get off work, Naoki rode Koraidon back to the ranch.
Mew and Baby Bear were sitting in the living room, eating snacks made by Naoki.
When they saw Naoki coming back, they immediately showed excitement on their faces.
"Teddi" "We brought you presents!" Teddiursa said proudly, handing over a pouch stuffed to the brim.
Naoki recognized it right away, he'd seen it featured in the report from Arceus phone, It was filled with the Maze World's "Miracle Seeds," a type of enchanted flora said to enhance natural energy and growth in Pokémon and plants alike.
"How was the trip?" Naoki asked warmly as he accepted the pouch.
"Teddi!"
"Mew~!"
Their eyes lit up as they launched into a joyful recounting of their adventure, how they'd met new friends, braved bizarre environments, and were hailed as heroes by the Pokémon of that world.
"You two did amazing," Naoki praised, his smile sincere.
But then, both Mew and Teddiursa suddenly drooped, their cheerful energy fading.
"Teddi…"
"Mew…"
They had remembered. Because they were away exploring the Maze World, they had missed one of the most important events in Naoki's life—his wedding. All the other Pokémon had been there, but not them.
Sensing their emotions, he chuckled softly and reassured them.
"Don't worry. You didn't even know it was going to happen at that time."
The two looked up, ears and tails twitching.
"And besides," he added, lifting the gift bundle, "I got your wedding presents. That's more than enough. Thank you both."
At that, Mew and Teddiursa beamed again, their earlier gloom melting away.
"Mewww!"
"Teddi-Teddi!"
Naoki didn't rush to open the bundle. Instead, he sat down with them in the cozy living room and gently asked, "So, what's next? Planning to head back into the Maze World? Or are you thinking about traveling through our world again for a while?"
Upon hearing the question, Mew and Teddiursa looked at each other.
They thought of the unfinished requests listed in the Rotom quest log, and answered without hesitation:
"Teddi!"
"Mew!"
They wanted to continue traveling. There were still commissions left unfulfilled, many of which had been issued by Naoki himself.
One, in particular, came to mind: the sealed Hoopa.
"I see…" Naoki replied, unsurprised. "Then I wish you both a safe journey."
"Tedi!"
"Mew~!"
Since they had already spent so much time in the Maze World, Mew and Teddiursa didn't want to linger too long. They rested at the Tree House Ranch and beneath the World Tree for just three days before setting off again.
Three days later, at a coastal port in the Paldea region.
With a deep, echoing blast from the ship's whistle, a massive ocean liner pulled away from the dock, heading out into the glittering blue sea.
Mew and Teddiursa sat atop the tallest mast, the wind teasing their fur as they gazed toward the horizon.
A soft chime rang out from the ship's loudspeakers:
"Attention all passengers: this vessel is now departing for the Unova region. We wish you a pleasant voyage."
Back at the ranch, Naoki opened the travel bundle Mew and Teddiursa had brought home.
Dozens of colorful seeds spilled out across the table, each shimmering faintly with mysterious energy.
As his eyes passed over them, information surfaced in his mind.
[Revival Seeds]
[Joy Seeds]
[Misfortune Seeds]
[Golden Seeds]
He sorted through them carefully.
Revival Seeds, similar to the effects of Life Goat Milk, could be planted to grow Revival Grass, high-grade healing herbs with life-saving properties.
Joy Seeds acted much like Rare Candies, boosting a Pokémon's strength upon consumption. Sadly, they couldn't be cultivated.
Misfortune Seeds were the opposite—inflicting status ailments or negative effects.
Golden Seeds, the rarest of them all, could massively boost a Pokémon's strength in one use. But, like Joy Seeds, they were one-use only and couldn't be planted.
Naoki took a moment to count everything.
– Revival Seeds: 37
– Joy Seeds: 4
– Misfortune Seeds: 3
– Golden Seed: 1
Beyond those, he found several bizarre, status-inducing varieties:
– Sleep Seeds: Induce deep sleep.
– Confusion Seeds: Cause dizziness.
– Blur Seeds: Weaken eyesight.
– Blind Seeds: …Exactly what the name suggests.
Unlike Joy or Golden Seeds, these seeds could be planted and cultivated.
But Naoki frowned slightly.
"Who… would want to go blind?" he muttered.
Then, an idea struck him.
Everyone knew that the Distortion World, home to Giratina, was saturated with inverted, reversal energies.
Which raised an intriguing possibility:
If these seeds were taken into the Distortion World and planted… would their effects reverse?
Could a Confusion Seed become a seed of clarity?
Could a Blur Seed treat nearsightedness?
Could a Blind Seed… grant vision to those who were blind?
Even more intriguing, Naoki's thoughts drifted back to Revival Grass.
At the moment, his Gogoats still ate dumplings made from normal grasses.
But what if he used Revival Grass instead?
What sort of effect would those new "revival dumplings" have?
His eyes lit up with curiosity, and he grinned to himself.
Since the Gym was closed for the day, Naoki decided to take full advantage of the break.
He packed up a small bag, said goodbye to Iono, and headed off to the Distortion World, the shadowy mirror realm where Giratina resided.
When he arrived, Giratina was lounging in midair, scrolling lazily through its phone. Ever since the incident involving Arceus, the Renegade Pokémon had shot to stardom, becoming the second-biggest internet celebrity in the world.
Only Calyrex, the "King of Bountiful Harvest," rivaled its popularity.
At the moment, Giratina exuded the energy of a retired champion who'd seen it all.
Noticing Naoki, it glanced over with a half-lidded gaze and grumbled in its deep, gravelly voice, "Where're you headed?"
"Just planting some seeds," Naoki replied casually, not even glancing back.
He leapt onto an undeveloped floating sky-island, riding his faithful Gogoat. Alongside him was Dugtrio, ready for duty.
Naoki gave them a nod.
"Squeak!"
Dugtrio stood at attention like tiny soldiers saluting their general, then immediately dove underground. A second later, soft bulges rose across the field as the Dugtrio worked quickly beneath the surface, tilling the soil with practiced efficiency.
Within minutes, the entire island's soil was rich, loose, and perfectly prepared.
Naoki followed behind them, gently sowing the exotic seeds Mew and Teddiursa had brought back from their Maze World expedition.
Once the planting was done, it was the Gogoat's turn to shine.
"Meaaa!"
With a determined bleat, the Gogoat stepped forward. As it tapped the earth with a single hoof, brilliant green energy pulsed outward in all directions. Within seconds, the entire field shimmered with life.
The seeds burst from the soil, sprouting into seedlings. Then, almost as if reacting to the reversed laws of this world, they accelerated in growth.
Stalks thickened. Leaves widened. Strange fruits bloomed, hanging from the stalks like treasures from a forgotten world.
Naoki watched in awe as row after row of bizarre, vibrant crops ripened in front of his eyes.
He walked the edge of the newly grown field, gazing at each plant as information surfaced in his mind.
His eyes widened.
Success!
[Awakening Fruit] Grown from a Sleep Seed reversed in the Distortion World. Instantly removes drowsiness no matter how tired the eater. When cooked into food, it grants the "Insomnia" buff, eliminating the need for sleep.
[Bright-Eye Fruit] Grown from a Blur Seed after reversal. Cures nearsightedness and farsightedness. When made into a dish, it grants the "Visual Enhancement" effect, improving focus and perception.
[Vision-Restoring Fruit] Grown from a Blindness Seed reversed. Grants sight to blind humans or Pokémon. When used in food, it grants "True Sight"—a mystical clarity that can even reveal hidden or illusion-based phenomena.
"..."
"Just as I thought," Naoki murmured, stunned by the results.
These fruits didn't just work. They surpassed expectations.
While they didn't directly strengthen a Pokémon's power the way Lightning Buns did, their healing and augmentative effects opened new doors. From curing poor eyesight to restoring full vision to the blind.
Insomnia for late-night missions. Enhanced vision for sharpshooters. True Sight for battles against illusion-wielding foes.
Naoki grinned.
"These might not punch like Thunderbolts… but they could change lives."
Moreover, looking at the descriptions behind these fruits, it seems that there will be some special effects after making them into dishes.
He took out a notebook and began jotting down ideas for recipes.
"I don't know exactly what these dishes will do yet…"
"But I guess there's only one way to find out."
