Chapter 322 - Monferno’s Evolution

Monferno picked up the stick in his hand and slammed it hard towards the guy in front of him.

The stick cut through the air and created a cracking sound, leaving a magnificent red-colored line of fire in the air.

The megaHoundoom did not dodge, intending to directly carry this move hard. At the same time, the black flames on his body had begun to coalesce, obviously intending to give Monferno a big hit.

But Monferno didn't have the intention to be polite with him, since mega Houndoom was going to resist it, let's see if he can carry it off!

So in the crowd's astonished look, Monferno's stick smashed hard on mega Houndoom's head.

Houndoom only felt as if his head had been hit by a mountain, and for the first instant the entire dog was dazed. The flames that were originally condensing on his body were also dispersed by this stick.

Rope was also quite helpless...it looked like he had given a bit too much reinforcement. This big Houndoom was too good to be true.

Houndoom wasn't the only one who was confused, Jikan, who was looking at the situation, was also in a state of confusion.

No...what is this situation? He had already given Houndoom all of the Blood Burning Elixir. This wasn't some tree fruit, some Pokéblock or something boring like that. This was a strengthening medicine from another world!

Why was something from the otherworld not even close to being as good as this monkey who hadn't even finalized his evolution yet!

For some reason, the annoyance in his heart grew more and more intense, to the point that he wanted to jump out himself and then just tear everyone, including Rope, into pieces.

"Rope are you really not going to care? I see the level of energy fluctuation over there, it won't get out of control in a while, right?"

Hoopa poked Rope's shoulder with some worry, then said rather helplessly.

"It shouldn't be that bad...it got out of control so easily? Is the mental quality that bad? What's the point of being a villain then?"

Rope was surprised, the villains he remembered were all like undefeatable little strong men, frustrated over and over again, but every time they could bravely get up and fight against the protagonist again, wasn't such a spirit worth learning?

You know, when Rope was still young, every time I think the protagonist is really powerful ah! But when she grew up, she realized that it was the villain who was awesome. Because not everyone can still face life bravely after experiencing so many setbacks, and so much of the world's reality.

Hoopa didn't have that realization; after all, the biggest setback among his magical life was getting his powers sealed by that dead alpaca Arceus. After that, he was almost devoured by a ghostly energy. So he hadn't really suffered any setbacks.

He watched as the massive Houndoom gave a stick and stumbled, and seriously, if he were the owner of this Houndoom, he'd pretty much have to lose control of himself for a bit.

I don't know how many enhancements I've made, how much confidence I have, and then to be hit head on with a bat...that's not something anyone can handle.

"Don't worry about him, what's the point of losing control...I'm here."

Rope waved his hand without a care in the world, he didn't care about that little minion over there. He cared more about whether or not this fight would unhinge Monferno or not.

Seriously, he could tell that this unknown enhancement on Houndoom was far from reaching its limit. He was really quite looking forward to it.

"Rope," Whitley tugged at Rope's coat, who turned her head to look at her, but suddenly her gaze faltered, "Is Monferno really okay with this? That power always gave me a bad feeling."

Whitley asked seriously, but Rope didn't open her mouth to answer.

Whitley looked up at Rope, only to find Rope staring behind her.

Whitley was a little confused, was there anything behind her but Diana?

So she turned her head to look.

Then a somewhat dumbfounded look like Rope's came over his face.

Diana looked at the two men looking at her as if they weren't too bright and asked with some confusion, "What's wrong? Is there something wrong with me?"

Whitley's and Rope's faces didn't half change and remained as puzzled as ever, as if they hadn't heard Diana's question.

So Diana looked quizzically at her hand, which was once again lit up with a green fluorescent glow... then she too flinched.

"Why is it lit up again? It seems brighter than before."

Diana looked at herself with some confusion, then fished a small mirror out of the side pocket of her backpack.

"It is brighter, and it really doesn't feel the same as it did before."

Whitley would have recognized it as well.

"This has happened before?"

Rope asked with some seriousness as he listened to the conversation between the two of them.

Whitley didn't make any jokes when she saw this expression on his face, so she just said, "Eh, this also happened last time in the village, when it was raining energy. I told you about it before."

"I remember you talking about a similar phenomenon to the one on the villagers."

"It was similar, just a little different in color."

Whitley said, and she wasn't wrong, it really was the only thing that was different. But now it seemed to be a little brighter than the time before.

"I just assumed at first that Diana's village had gone through that process of the energy being released as well... but now it looks like something isn't quite right."

Rope said so without hiding his negligence.

Because this matter was indeed out of his expectation.

If the energy fluctuation in Diana's body became stronger, it meant that there was definitely something fishy going on.

And just as everyone's attention was on Diana, the battle situation over there had once again changed.

The energy in Houndoom's body finally came to its peak, and with it, his aura also came to its peak.Houndoom roared loudly. Houndoom roared loudly, and a black jet of flame came towards Monferno.

Monferno also had a headache, he had inflicted quite a few wounds on this Houndoom before, but maybe it was the medicine in his body...this guy's self-healing ability was simply beyond imagination.

The good thing was that Monferno's blue was almost unlimited as well if he had Rope by his side. So it wasn't really a headache. What really gave him a headache was this fire...

Monferno swung his fist violently, and a red-colored flame met his opponent's black fire pillar head-on.

And it was evenly matched, with little fatigue from each other.

This will let the side of Hoopa see some scalp numb. Monferno's red flame he certainly know is along with out Rope to come, in the middle of Monferno also mixed with some Monferno's own anger.

Just like Charizard used Red Flame, but would also use Cyan Flame for himself. Incorporating his own unique flames into the flames given by Rope, and then turning those flames into ones that are easier for him to use and more unique to himself.

Fire-attribute Pokémon who don't have their own quest for flames and only think about using normal flames don't have much of a future.

They can actually all receive the blessing of Yan Di's Sacred Fire, and if they were concerned about the Phoenix King in the beginning, they don't need to be concerned about the Phoenix King at all afterward. Because the Phoenix King himself was on Rope's side, Rope's Pokémon were naturally his own people. Even if the Phoenix King herself was allowed to give her blessing, she wouldn't necessarily refuse.

But Rope's Pokémon had just not accepted it.

Because Rope's Flame itself is a higher flame than Sacred Fire. Accepting Sacred Fire after having Rope's Red Flame was actually quite ribald for them.

That's why they would rather develop their own flame and fuse it with Sacred Fire, making Sacred Fire their own flame, rather than accepting a foreign flame.

Rope's Red Flame they were able to do as well as they could, but Sacred Fire was really not.

"Rope, there's something wrong with that Black Flame."

Hoopa hurriedly spoke to Rope.

Rope was called over by Hoopa's shout. He frowned as he looked at the black flame and spoke, "A flame that fuses the fire and evil attributes?"

"Still fused from the root...the current Houndoom can't be considered a Pokémon with the Evil Attribute plus the Fire Attribute...he's a Pokémon with the Evil Fire Attribute..."

Hoopa could see it clearly as well. This Houndoom, hard to say, was really very valuable to study.

But Rope, who was on the side, shook his head after taking a closer look, and said, "It's nothing rare, it's just using its own life essence to catalyze the fusion... A loss, it's not even a life-fighting move. It's a suicide move."

Rope wasn't bullshitting either. Taking one's own life essence as a catalyst...what was this if not suicide...the so-called secret techniques could hurt one's body, but the cost effectiveness must be high.

Just like what was written in the novels about 'Heavenly Demon Unraveling Technique' and other feats, it was possible to kill someone over the top when blowing yourself up.

But this black flame wasn't much of a base card at all...the power could only be described as difficult. Just like right now, Monferno's red flame could still suppress it by a hair.

"The problem is that the Origin of Life isn't something you can touch just because you want to..."

Hoopa rolled his eyes then said.

It was important to realize that there really weren't many Pokémon that could grasp the Life Origin, Zelnias, Phoenix King, and Arceus... and one Rope if you had to say so... but not many others...

And a normal Houndoom has mastered such an ability...

"That's a hammer mastery...do you see him controlling it?"

Rope rolled his eyes. It was as if he had guessed what Hoopa was thinking. After all, Invisible Heartflame did have this in its power attributes. It wasn't really a surprise.

"It should be related to the fae energy in that location. Let's wait until Monferno has thrashed his opponent."

But before Rope's words had left his mouth, the situation in front of him began to reverse.

Houndoom's body began to gradually shrink, but the aura and energy in its body began to become more and more solid. If the beginning was like a high-rise building without a foundation, then the current Houndoom should be a three-story villa with a good foundation...

And because of that, Monferno's advantage of being flexible began to be discounted.

But everyone wasn't too worried about it is all. After all, everyone was still confident in Monferno's strength.

There were even people who laughed.

That's right...Rope was the unscrupulous asshole who laughed.

He felt that the situation was just right to put some pressure on Monferno.

Monferno did feel the pressure now, and Rope, the asshole, even lowered the intensity of the reinforcement by quite a bit.

Now Monferno is just a beginner's champion.

But the opposite side of Houndoom had even reached top champion level after being fully strengthened.

Though this guy's flame of life was already incredibly faint in Rope's eyes.

If it was a Pokémon that hadn't been strengthened, Rope would believe you if you said he would die suddenly in the next second.

Monferno swung the long stick in his hand, struggling a bit to block Houndoom's claws wrapped in black flame that kept coming.

Gradually, Monferno fell into a disadvantage. He knew he would win in the end no matter what. It was just a matter of him winning, relying on Rope to win, or Houndoom draining his energy and winning.

But how could you ask Monferno to accept such a thing! Winning something like that! Definitely he had to do it himself!

That's why the flames in his body once again churned. Like an angry beast roaring. And in stark contrast to Precognition was Monferno's calm expression. The more the flames on his body raged, the calmer his eyes became. It was as if he had given all his anger and rage to the flames.

Rope also nodded in satisfaction at this.

As the flames erupted, Monferno once again gradually gained the upper hand.

Coupled with skillful stick techniques, picking, poking, poking, smashing, and swinging... one move, one stick, one kill.

Houndoom carried all of them directly from the front.

"It's still not enough...the outburst is a little short."

Hoopa looked at the battle in front of him and shook his head somewhat helplessly. The power of the moves was sufficient. But for some reason, it just felt like this kind of battle was missing a little something.

"It will be." Rope's face did have confidence.

He looked at Monferno with deep anticipation in his eyes.

Monferno himself knew his problem. Giving all of his angry emotions to the flames certainly wasn't the whole point of the move...

So after realizing his problem, Monferno pulled away from Houndoom with a backward jump after smashing out a club and sending Houndoom flying backwards.

Houndoom was a bit dazed, after all, Monferno's stick was heavy...

Monferno, on the other hand, took this opportunity to take in all the flames.

"This!" Hoopa exclaimed as if he suddenly realized something.

"That's it!"

A wide smile finally appeared on Rope's face.

And so all the flames on Monferno's body collected, but the aura on Monferno's body instead rose another knot, and the calmness in his eyes was all replaced by anger, rage.

So Monferno picked up his stick, and after looking at Houndoom, he smashed at him as if he had nothing else in his head.

Houndoom had fully awakened from his daze by now. But he realized that he couldn't move...like something was holding his limbs down...he couldn't move at all.

And so the next moment, a raging pillar of fire rose over his body.

And a white light, lit up on Monferno's body.
