Logan's POV
Earlier this evening, I watched Noah leave the Big House.
"I have something to take care of at home," he'd said, avoiding my gaze.
He'd said it was nothing serious, just a quick errand. He said he'd be back soon. But I know he's gone to see Kieran.
And—I'm not angry.
Because I can still feel the weight of his head on my shoulder from last night. Can still smell the soft, sleepy scent of him clinging to my skin. I'm holding onto that. Just that. If I let go, I'll fall apart.
So I kept busy. I played tag with Lila and Oliver until they were wheezing from laughter. I sat on the floor and helped them build a fort out of couch cushions and throw pillows. When Ma called me in to get ready, I didn't even complain when she gelled and combed my hair sleek.
Noah's goodbye was just a glance. Not even a proper goodbye. That's how I knew he planned to come back. That's how I convinced myself not to follow.
