"Arthur, where is my wife? Wasn't she just speaking at the table with Morgenstern, Balthazaar, and Vonstein?" Ares called out to Arthur, his fingers twitching slightly.
"Have you not been paying attention to the Empress's whereabouts? I told you—you need to watch over her as well." Ares continued, grumbled, had been scanning the room for Valeska, yet she had suddenly vanished.
No matter where he looked, she was nowhere to be found.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty," Arthur replied, now realizing that Valeska was missing from the banquet hall.
He moved to Ares's side, listening to the Emperor's frustrated complaints.
"Perhaps she went to her chambers? Yet Adelais, Elowen, and Maddie are still here—Her Majesty wouldn't leave without them."
"Find my wife." Ares commanded sharply, irritation slipping into his tone. He always felt uneasy whenever Valeska wasn't within his sight. No matter the reason, she had to be near him—or at least within his reach.
