"Attack it from the inside!" the Ashborn roared as Craze shot through the air.
Watching this, Elvira chuckled, clearly amused. She had no sympathy for people like Craze.
"A nephirid bullet? That's pointless," she said. "Unless he finds the true core, all he'll do is waste the mana powering that thing."
"You figured out how the hydra works?"
Elvira nodded. "Necromancy here is different from what you're used to. It's not just puppeteering corpses. It's about reconstructing essence from their remains and then using that essence to reanimate a body.
That essence acts as the core. As long as it exists, and has mana or aether to sustain it, it can't truly die."
"Interesting… What about the evolution trait?"
Elvira raised two fingers. "Two possibilities. Either he's been playing around … or this Hydra is a recent acquisition, and he's still adjusting to it."
"No wonder necromancy got erased from history," someone muttered. "In the right hands, it's completely broken."
