And with a flick of the wrist and a breeze blowing against you, everything is pitch black…At least all around me.
,,,,Ever experienced that before? Not something like covering your eyes nor turning off the lights…No, more like natural darkness, like being in the forest at night without equipment. Or having a thunderstorm during the day.
Its weird knowing that light is there, but it's being blocked by things you can't control. Though my night vision helps a ton, I'm not sure if there's even enough light for me to keep it going.
Wait? How much light is needed for night vision to work? Ah screw it…Just gotta walk…walk? Why can't I see through the ground? What the hell?
Was the moonlight doing all the heavy lifting? I'm going to assume so, 'cause I can't see s*** anymore. Now, all I can see is a grayish haze covering the crystal…lake! Oh! That's what I'm talking about!
Didn't know how to explain the phenomenon where the crystal sand just suddenly changed into a mirror, but now I've got the perfect description for it! It's a literal crystal lake! Not a lake full of crystals, but a singular crystal making up the lake!
Ah! Back on topic, the hills I've seen before are now nowhere to be seen and everything within a certain range of me is just the grayish haze. While anything outside of that range is just plain darkness.
Thud Thud It still feels like walking atop a frozen lake Thud Thud But is it gonna change back into sand? 'Cause light made it into this, now light isn't here sooooooo….*Shrug*
Thud At least I can see somewhat…Not that it would matter anyway, as this place is way too big for me to just walk off….Is there a jinx? I feel like everything I've said so far hasn't been jinxed at all.
Or am I getting way too cocky right now….No, it feels like everyday to me. Not like those scenes where everything is against the protagonist.
…What do I mean? WELL, LET THIS EXPERT IN MOST NARRATIVES OUT THERE, WHETHER MOVIES, BOOKS, ANIMATION, AND WHATEVER ELSE SHOW HIS SKILLS.
I'll give it to y'all in just five words….THE PLOT OF THE STORY! 'Cause even if the protagonist hasn't made any harmful moves against themselves, the plot of the story would want problems to happen to make the story interesting.
…Because think back on any story you can think of and try and see if you would be interested in it when there's no problems happening….There's barely any that you can think of right? It doesn't matter if the story itself needs a little break from problems, the fact that it could help create development for the story and characters is enough for most stories to involve them.
And now try and relate this to me right now…I'm able to avoid most problems using my common sense, but why is the plot so calm? Is it because I'm smart enough to avoid them? Maybe it's the calm before the storm? Or is it because I'm in the REAL WORLD that no logic in narratives work here?......HUFFF PUFF HUFF PUFF HUFF PUFF HUFF PUFF HUFF PUFFF
OKAY! LET'S NOT MENTION THAT ANYMORE. IF I DO, I MIGHT BREAK DOWN AND NEVER MOVE! HUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFF
PUFFFFFFFFF Okay…..Lets get a move on. Thud Thud Thud
Talking about moving on….My thoughts are way faster now, isn't it? All that thinking happened between only a couple steps…Accelerated thinking. Neat. Incredible, yet increasingly weird. I'm in my early thirties, so I've been way too accustomed to my body before.
Now it's like my body is becoming more unknown to me. It's pretty awesome to have these powers, but my mind is too stubborn to accept how my body is changing. Probably because the fact that as people get older, their body gets weaker is driven deep into my mind that its weird.
I know, I say this and have the reaction of someone who won the lottery, but you gotta understand how the benefits can blind people. Just imagine yourself winning the lottery! WOW! ONE MILLION DOLLARS RIGHT IN YOUR HANDS! THEN!...More taxes…ENOUGH SAID!
AM I RIGHT?! I'm kidding, but the fact that you have money on hand makes you want to spend it…And if you spend too much, what happens to your spending habits? EXPENSIVE! And also because I think people who usually win the lottery end up bankrupt.
Thud Damn…I'm getting way too much into my thoughts and I'm not even focusing on admiring the beauty…
Let's get right to it…That bastard island is still blocking the moonlight Sniff Sniff The beautiful and majestic light that shines a guiding light in my path, both literally and figuratively. And I'm still walking upon this gilded-like crystal layer.
